You do realise that you could have simply PMed me for the name of the supplier, right? You can figure it out yourself now. And keep in mind, designs do change.
ITWOST, the SCTBDC's concrete breach broke (rather predictably in hindsight), and I made another one wrapped in copious amounts of fiberglass. Hopefully that will solve tensile strength and shock load problems.

See, this is my point exactly. Why deny information from others? If you're not going to tell anyone, why even mention you have a secret .. resource?bigbob12345 wrote:i dont think DYI will like that being put up there for all to see
But I dont think there is any reason for secrecy, this is just a spudding forum
You want to know the reason for secrecy?
In this case, the reason is that I don't really know when I'll finish the project, or even if I can build it on the scale I want to. When I say [redacted], I could be referring to anything I don't want to release yet, probably because I don't want people breathing down my neck to finish it.
Now everyone who reads this thread knows my long term, high-budget project when I haven't even tested the small prototype yet (mostly because the stungun I ordered 3 weeks ago from BCarms still hasn't arrived).
And I'm not telling you the name of the supplier because telling the entire forum about my project was a stupid move when you could have PMed me.

And the bottom line is I was trying to find out why you felt this way DYI. And if you don't, then please, enlighten us.SpudBlaster15 wrote:DYI, do you honestly believe that I posted my findings in an attempt to get you to release the name of the supplier? You only see it as a stupid move because you (and only you) view it as detrimental to your well being.

It's been 3 weeks for mine too and i'm in NZ. He said he had sent it when I asked last week, but he didn't say when. Even then it's hard to make an approximate time of arrival with customs in the way.DYI wrote:(mostly because the stungun I ordered 3 weeks ago from BCarms still hasn't arrived).
I think we need a touch less hostility here. If DYI doesn't want to name the supplier, then it's his own choice. If he wants to post subtle hints in pale text, that's also his choice.
I don't give away all the information about all my projects, and I have no doubt almost every other serious spudder has a few secret plans, so why should he need to tell all?

Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
ITWOSY, I took 3 more range shots with the SCTBDC. The disks, while made painstakingly accurately, failed at wildly varied pressures (from 270 - 350psig) I lost all of my "darts" in the lake 400 yards away, but I did recover 2 of the tails (4' of 1.5" ABS pipe).
The whole time we were there we were literally knee deep in mud and other assorted sludge, people were constantly walking directly across my line of fire, my camera died (permanently) when I fell on it while walking on the rocks to recover my darts, and the 70o hangtime shot I did somehow cleared the 1200 feet to the lake at only 270 psi. Which would be fine, if it weren't for the fact that this was a specialised dart that took 3 hours to make, which I was saving for a good target.
So I didn't have a great day yesterday, and I'm sorry for any hostility. I really don't care that my project got released, I was just a bit confused as to why SB15 did it.
