Have you ever tried simply twisting it out with pipe wrenches? It screws into 1/4" compression threads, and then you can make a thread adapter with it by using a 1/4" compression to NPT adapter. DON'T HACKSAW IT.

why not? if you plan on connecting a hose to it and clamp it down (via hose clamp), I don't see what the problem is. But i suppose you could just twist it out and buy a 1/4" hose fitting...DYI wrote:DON'T HACKSAW IT.

If it does unscrew, i must need something heavier-duty because i tried to get it off. I'll try again though.
Here's the adapter I have:
And here's the tip without the cover thing, it has a TINY hole in it that releases the propane:
My question is, if all else fails, would drilling that tiny hole larger then adding a hose directly to that pipe, what are the chances of it working?
Thanks[/img]

chances = can't fail (unless you some how screw up the drilling process).

What sizes of pipe wrench were you using?
I find that 12" ones are enough to loosen it quite easily.

I accomplished this in under one minute. The pink stuff is some sort of glue that was on the threads, but it didn't stand much of a chance against a 12" pipe wrench. You can tell when the glue is broken when you hear a snap.
Those threads are the same as threads on a 1/4" compression fitting, and will seal as long as you use a sealant compound.
