You should have left the body of the lighter intact and only open up the end.
Then just connect the wires to your spark gap.

ok
cut the wires lose
put the metal [] shaped in the plastic
then put the orange thingy in the metal
get the last part between the orange thing and the metal

the wires can be wrapped around the screws or maybe soldered

that goes between the metal and the orange thing
but do you know at all how it works if it's bought in the shop?
you can get just a new one and insert it as it is in the cannon :idea:
just try something and see if you can manage to find the answer.
if you want to use screws for sure you can cut of the wires as far from the ORANGE thing as possible

the metal thing is too thick to fit between the orange thing and the metal rectangle
