In the world of Spuds today... hmm this might be fun

My little marble gun i made died, i salvaged the pilot and used the rest of it as a target....... sigh.........

the Barret 14mm is simply a pile of parts now, along with one VERY broken sprinkler valve.

my Ant-style automatic gun didnt work..... the schrader valves just dont release enough air upon striking to re-cycle the system for long enough.

on a good note, when the snow melted in my backyard i found all the darts i made and shot over the winter!!!!!

basically, all my guns are broken, but i have a CRAPLOAD of ammo for them.....

I need a new cannon. Im going to re-contsruct the Barret 14mm with a 3/4 inch QEV and MABEY start on my .40 cal gun. MABEY that is, if Crew will give me my life back.....

In the world of spuds today:
Well mocking up my valve before gluing, the bushing that holds the seal face got swaged in there tight enough that I couldn’t nock it out.
So I decided to glue the rest up and use pressure and the piston to “push” out the seal face bushing.
I hooked it up to the air compressor and slowly brought it up from 10psi to about 60-80psi (never checked) then “BLOOP” the bushing finally let loose, and went flying about 30 yards; the piston is MIA…

For those keeping track (because people really care what I do ) this is the second time I’ve screwed up the same valve…

Oh and I think the pizza I’m eating is about a month past its expiration date… I think I’ll stop eating it now… maybe…

It sure as heck wasn’t fresh, I think it had something to do with being thawed and re-froze several times…:D

ITWOST...

I dubbed the name, CF, for my new creation since it has just over 1CF of chamber volume. Pictures to come in a seperate thread. :)

I finally got a day off so maybe I'll be posting pics of a sprinkler valved launcher I finished up.

It incorporates some new construction materials on one of the barrels and the way I modded the toro valve (wouldn't recomend that valve but it's all I had).
So I'd like to post pics before I give it to one of my nephews for his 15th b-day.

I saw a really cool looking component at the gas station, but I don't want to write a whole new topic on it.
It was a $10 stainless steel drinking flask (the contoured kind).
It's thick metal and has a screw on cap. I am thinking it would make a great chamber for a mini.(would fit against wrist maybe)

The problem is this one is 8 oz. volume. If I could find one 16oz. and it could hold 400psi that would be like a half gallon (64oz.) at 100psi.

They sell short pieces of SS hydraulic tubing at a hardware store nearby for a barrel .
Makes me want to build a mostly SS compact piston pneumatic next.

Well, my parents gave me an OK for a hybrid :-D

Im working on getting cash now, but im kind of sort of exited. Ive already made a calculator program for a TI83 and TI84 calculators that calculates what pressure to fill your meter to at different mixes, and it even has something that works in the effects of atmospheric pressure. once i make it all nice and pretty i will post it here on spudfiles.

im also almost done with some NERF guns i am modding for my friend. ill post them somewhere for you guys to see im kind of proud of them.

I have a dance tongiht. URG. Ive disliked dances ever scince i got dumped by the only worthwile girl in my school (who turned out to be just as worthwile as the rest of them). I hate private school sometimes............ And plus i could be doing work around the house to fund my hybrid!!!!

If you don't want to go to the dance, why are you going? And I have a hard time believing that your school's as bad as it sounds. How many students are there?

So what kind of hybrid are you planning on? Are you going to follow the current trend of obscenely large and powerful hybrids that can probably shoot a golfball through an engine block?

There is a dance that started about 10min ago and i didnt go because I dont want to.
about 20min into the first dance I have ever been to this random 5 year old dressed as superman like attacked me, no jk. Havent been to a dance since, and dont really plan to go to one ever again.

Anyway ITWOST I didnt do alll that much although I worked on this piston valved marble shooter i have been working on lately.
BTW the pic of the cracked tee on the previous page was from it, that stalled its completion a lot.
And Ive pretty much given up on my autopiston, i just dont have the nessesary skills required to build it :(
Thats it

An autopiston?... You mean like a semi-auto or full auto piston valve cannon? :o

Oh now you've reminded me about my ball coming up. What a bloody joke. All the 'stomach pumpers' go, and pretty much everyone else. But my group doesn't really give a f*ck, so we're just having a huge piss-up at my place instead :D

ITWOST, first day of my two week holiday. Got a few things planned but I don't have the materials yet :(

In the world of spuds today:
i just bought the pvc to make my piston valve LAW cannon
design was a little tricky, was going for an air efficient, portable, breech loading, shoulder mounted, battery less, single tube cannon for shooting nerf footballs (and anything else 2" in diameter :P ). i think i came up with a solid design (according to GGDT ill get ~400 ft/s at 100 psi with a nerf football). i'm super stoked for the build, i just have to hit up my schools machine shop next week to make some custom parts and modify some of the pvc fittings to meet my requirements. until then, ill just have to ponder and work out the small details of my design. soon as i get some decent progress ill make a new thread.

Well, the Dance was Boring.
our school has less than 100 students per grade, and im in HS, so that eqates to a MAX of 400 students. The only people that went were freshmen also..... and well im not really friends with them....... so i sat there...... and ate free pizza.

i went because my parents made me. thats why..........

and they hybrid im constructing is going to be a simple hybrid, one that is consturcted out of all Galvanized steel fittings and pipe if i can help it. Proboably a 1in union and a 1in ID barrel.

I just found a 3 inch long steel spike..... im making some kind of dart with it for my prospective hybrid..........

In the world of spuds today(yesterday):
I completed my 6mm steel coaxial and tested it up to 31bar(~455,7psi) succesfully. Im not sure wether it has broken the speed of sound as i have no chronograph, but it definately is close.
I also upgraded my "just another copper gun" with a new chamber made from 65cm of 1" steel pipe, this was also blessed with 31bar. Earprotection is indeed needed at these pressures
Also, i modded my fridgecompressor a bit and added some new coppertubing for ease of use and looks.
I will post the two guns in the showcase some time soon, im just not up for writing alot right now
Proud and happy owner of a fridge compressor :D
