I nominate sidewalk chalk with a little duct tape wrapped around the base to make it fit the barrel tightly. Its like a paintball with a more sickening crack and a powdery explosion. Its fun for shooting when I have no printers, plywood, or car hoods to shoot at.

They are one of the safest ammo possible and are available in various sizes.
The thread on the back acts as a tail for a good ballistic flight and the ones from OB have curved grooves (rifling!)
You can "borrow" em from your mom, girlfriend, wife, or just buy em yourself.

I personally like dart ammo. They are low drag, high energy rounds.

They are extremely energetic for their size. I suppose I should say they have a very high impact force, easily higher than that of a slug. A large cross sectional surface area spreads the force of impact while dart rounds have the ability to punch through materials harder than the round itself. Take the force of impact (in pounds) and divide it by cross sectional area of the round and you've got the pressure exerted on the target. The numbers are typically huge. My round for example. The maximum cross sectonal area is .75 in^2. The force into a target is most likely to be around 35000 lbs of force @ 300fps. 35000/.75= 47000 PSI. Where as a slug with the same impact force with a 9 in^2 cross sectional would have 3900 PSI. The dart round has 12 times the penetrating power.
