Interesting that Brits, Kiwis and Ausies prefer "spud gun" whereas USians and Canuks prefer "potato gun".

Well Airsoft guns are on the rise.
Maybe Some spudders are switching to airsoft for its milsim and combat

That is actually one of my "things to do" wich I will probably never do...I mean, go to a gun range with your combustion and just start shooting
I dare ANYONE to go out to a range and ( with permission) fire your best launcher there and post a vid.
I think that would be so cool!!
I just don't have the time right now, and I have no working gun ( I used overkills exhaust valve to start the repeater project, still need to replace it with a modded solenoid)
Neither do I know anyone that visit;s a shooting regularly.
I'll look into it when I have the time.Might give me some business too.

Fired my generic combustion gun at the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (NMLRA) range a couple times.
Somewhere on the long rifle range there are a couple dozen apples

This is very interesting actually. This all makes reasonable sense because SpudFiles did come around in late 2004. This probably has something to do with the "search" decline.
Before sites like this one and others were created there must have been poor resources for people to get a hold of and comprehend as easily as a site like SpudFiles. There are still many users that visit this site everyday and new users joining all the time
Also you must think about the massive cache of cannons this site has on display; illustrates a rough scale on how many cannons actually exist and the types that are created.

My explanation for this is that I think that back when spudfiles was a growing community everyone thought it was so new and had seen nothing quite the same, ever. At first everyone wanted to build their basic hairspray combustion (like many of us did). Then once that happened people began to realize all the different types and designs of spudguns that could be created. Spudgunners began to develop better patience to allow them to build more powerful cannons and so on...
A basic summary of this is that when spudgunning really kicked up it was a very rapid increase in populairity, now people take the time to construct thier cannons and make them properly. while trying to fit in their "life" so to speak haha.
Just thought it's a little more for us to think about, peace.

remember folks, spudguns were around before any of us were born and will be around long after we are gone so i wouldnt worry too much about it, im pretty sure that a very low percentage of ppl in the world is online. i would bet there are millions of spudgunners out there that has never heard of spudfiles.
True, but, I think that in some countries (other the USA) the spudgunning is getting popular and popular. As in Canada (Quebec for me) where a TV presenter not so long ago admitted and told how-to make a spray and pray spugun!

Ahahah i've contributed to the downfall of spudgunning.
After i finish my high powered pneumatic airsoft sniper gun i'll be stopping for a couple years =/.
I'll be using it in airsoft skirmishes, kickin ass hahaha.
Ah yes, with it will be a single shot propane combustion pistol

Simply no time, and i'm getting out of it haha.
I love the physics, simple chemistry and knowledge put into it(which is probably one of my primary reasons of spudding).
