ITWOST, I've got my tools and stuff organized but I've been working on my scooter.
LoL, My foreign friend pronounces it screwter, so I call it my "Screwter".

It's a really crazy looking scooter cause all the plastic is gone.
I should post some pics of what I've done but That will take up bandwidth maybe. (I was going to give it to my nephews but I have 2 classes a wk. now).

I've been thinking of a cloud design but I may have to make a new post on a few questions about the design. 8)

ITWOST, finished my latest piston cannon today.

I can't post it for maybe a week because I have to do some testing and give it a paintjob.

ITWOST
I've nearly finished my high pressure piston launcher. Now i just have to root out leaks and seal them.
I seem to have broken yet another pump in pursuit of high pressure, so I need to get a hold of a PolandSpud compressor soon.

ITWOST, Just getting back from an unplanned 3-day trip.
I got my Chinese scooter all customized.
I was planning a few more mods to it. I took it out to test ride it and found a back road going over 30 miles into the city.

Then it started raining like a hurricane so I parked it under a roof with the lock around it (through the front tire) and went into store to get plastic bags to put stuff in. 2 min.s later it was Gone!!! They must've had a truck to throw it in.(Took me 3 days to get home)! :(

In one way I wasn't too p'ssed cause noone will see me riding it.
But other hand I wanted to fix it even better and maybe give it to nephews or sell it.

Still with the awesome work I did on it, and that I hadn't taken pics yet, it's funny how a machine can break your heart sometimes.

I had a Tomos before that I painted chrome silver and covered all the body w/ reflective hologram tape and chrome bike pegs and rectangular chrome handlebars. That one and my scooter really showed talent to be able to make them actually look "cool".

Both were stolen. so it shows I should've just left 'em "Rat bikes"

Well I was only out 3 days and there's like 1157 new posts and plenty of good reading here. 8)

ITWOST, my planned demonstration failed utterly. After an entire day of preparation, I came home with a destroyed (and likely irrepairable) barrel, an oddly mangled sparkplug, the same number of balloons I left with, absolutely no video evidence of anything, and a single data point to show for it all.

I did get a chrony though :D

ITWOST I finished and shipped a 2" barrel sealer as well as golf ball barrel to my friend's ranch where we will be shooting golf balls into the troposphere which shouldn't be too difficult (atmospheric level/nerd joke). I mangled a soda can with my 3" barrel sealer, it was violent and pleasing at the same time.

 I've been waiting for someone to!

ITWOST: Finaly I got some JB Weld today WoOHoO!!!

Been sort of slow/uncertain for me. Because I picked up the second Drunk In Public charge since I've been on probation for (guess):Too many drunk in publics.
Cops near me are so un-cool. Geez, I was walking down a sidewalk minding my own business...Besides I pay 91 Bucks each time to sleep in thier crappy jail. :P
Anyway,Looks like the only way i will avoid five months in jail is to do a Three (GD) month program and then restart to the 4 mo. group I was already in.

Or I am getting some $$$ soon and been thinking of moving to other half of country/ other country for good though.
Either way I've got to get rid of lots of junk first. It's stressful and hopefully I'll finish current project, post it and give it away to a friend before I leave for a few months. :( 8)

Well, today... I came across a very weird material.

Anyway, I was just looking for stuff to shoot with my air rifle (hey, I was bored), and I found this old flimsy plastic advertising placemat taped to a couple of thin layers of light foam packing - I shot the whole thing, expecting it to go through and hit the steel backstop...

It didn't. I tore the tape off, and found the pellet completely crushed lengthways in the foam just below the surface of this place mat.
Naturally, as a scientist, I checked to make sure the result wasn't a fluke - another 5 times. Every single time, the same thing happened - from point blank to 25 yards.

I inspected further - although the pellets had clearly gone through, because I had found them on the far side of the material, and there were some marks on the surface - but there were no actual holes to prove this. They had all completely sealed up with little more than a slight scar...

Bizarre.

Now I'm trying to work out what the heck this is actually made from.

Strange..

Perhaps the friction from the pellet has melted the opening shut just after the pellet has left it.

ITWOST, my airsoft gun isn't working well at all. Performance is varying wildly, and maxing out at 300fps (which is less than 10% of its potential). It's just the early stages though, and I think I'll be able to gain quite a bit with some minor tweaking, and a few hundred more dollars invested...

Also, I finally re-established contact with my supplier in the States, so the HVHH is once again in progress (I hope  ).

It's the only option I can think of, there's got to be a bit of spare heat after stopping a pellet that fast - but equally, it's got to spring back fast too to take advantage of that.
The sheet is only about 3mm thick, so it's pretty tough.

I think that the first side of the foam would start to close up even before the pellet has left the other side of it. Also, you find that if you rub your finger down a piece of foam, it become very hot, very quickly.

So unless the pellet is curving round the piece of foam and still hitting it's target (Now that was a good movie) then there's no other explanation really.
