Has anyone come up with a practical use for a spudgun, beyond just the entertainment of random destruction and impressive high numbers on a chrony?
I am trying to keep my interest, because I am always coming up with ingenious ideas for new cannons, but then thinking "what am I ever going to do with this?" after the first novelty of the new cannon wears off, it is just another boring toy.
From what I can remember, the only useful cannons I have seen are the T-Shirt cannon, and the "satellite launcher" (but how often do you find it that you need to hang something over a tree that is too hight to throw a rock over?)
Can you guys come up with any other uses?

But the link the Mr. Crowley gave should be helpful.

Once people start building spud guns they have two career options, they can be a weapons designer or a plumber. Hard choice isn't it.

there was a cannon posted not long ago that was used for shooting confetti in a theater
My view is that it is what it is...a fun hobby. For me the fun is the design and construction anyway, so I really don't need much of a practical use for the things. My noise cannons are probably as practical as they are going to get for me.
Heck, I'll hang 'em on my wall in my mancave and use 'em for conversation pieces if nothing else...

They are possibly the most useless tools for zombie fighting ever. A chair is better. Think a bout it. Long reload time. You shoot one of them, then the other thirty who just heard the shot come eat you while your little bike pump is struggling to pump the thing, and then its battery dies.TheTrooper wrote:To fight the evil zombies of course http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/best-pl ... 14970.html

What if you made a few 1" bore vortex BBMGs firing steel bearings, powered by a liquid hydrogen tank running at 10,000psi? Then you'd mount them on turrets with 360 degree swivel, and light the exhaust at the end of the barrels. You could call it "The Meat Grinder"...They are possibly the most useless tools for zombie fighting ever. A chair is better. Think a bout it. Long reload time.
