The military usually names their guns after the designer or the type of ammo. IE: Barret .50 Caliber Rifle.
Other things like the M-16 started at the M-1 and got upgraded to the M-2, M-3 and so on up to the M-16 now.
Acronyms are usually a good way to name something.
Me and my friend went for the obvious and named our first one the Boomstick, my new one is the Patriot because its painted blue with a red/white striped barrel. Be creative.

i usually name guns by their ammo and the design, or some component on the gun that makes it unique.
like you could name an over under pnuematic with a 1.5" barrel the spudwinder or something like that.
i named my burst disk paintball gun the grafiti rat. grafiti because it shoots paintballs and rat because it kind of looks like a rodent with the extension hose attached. check it out in the submit pnuematics section.
names come easy when the gun looks a little different from other guns that youve seen.

I name all my guns in the HK series, KH being my initials. Even when I become a gunsmith one day it will still be the HK series.
Forever dreaming...
