hey guys,
Just got my first air cannon up and running with a 1" by 5ft barrel with a 3" by 3.2ft air chamber with a ball valve. Very happy with it and fires very well. but unfortunately for some reason the cap of the chamber began to leak air and cannot be fixed

. so i've decided to buy a new cap but cut down the chamber a bit ! but the question is how big sh0ould the chamber be ? i assume the chamber's volume should be the same sized volume as the barrels volume other wise it would be a waste of air ?
thanks guys

i would just cut it down as little as possible... bigger is generally better... but you can't really go wrong with a 1/1 C/B ratio

1" by 5ft barrel with a 3" by 3.2ft air chamber
Your current CB ratio is about (32)(38 )/(12)(60) = 5.7:1
So the volume of you chamber is about 5.7 times greater than the volume of your barrel.
You can chop off a fair amount of the chamber without really affecting the performance. If you chopped off 1 foot of chamber the CB would still be 3.9.
