I dunno, I think this seems like a neat idea. Personally I'd prefer an electrolyisis machine for making propellant, but this seems much simpler. May take a bit longer to produce gas though.

Lemme know how it goes :D

i dont really want to make combustions, pneumatics are more powerful.
You know, it wouldn't take much thought to realise that statement to be completely inaccurate. If you take two cannons, of equal size, and precharge them both to 150psi, one with air, and one with oxy/propane mix, it should be obvious which one has more potential to propel a projectile.

So no, pneumatics are most definitely not more powerful than combustions, so long as the playing field is kept level. Safety is much more debateable, but if you have two cannons that fire at the same pressure, where one of them generates and releases that pressure in less than 0.2s, and the other stores it for several minutes...

And if you don't want to make a combustion anyway, why go to all the trouble of building a methane generator?

I only thinked of that for people who can do combustions...
He mentioned it for people that can make them.

DIY's splitting hairs over the word combustion and the category of combustion :P

Back on topic:

Ferment biomass for a week or spray an aerosol for less than one second. I'm not seeing a positive side there.

It would be cool in the same sense that making a bicycle powered generator for your rail gun would be cool. The idea is neat, but altogether it is just absolutely impractical, with no reasonable application.

NO WAYYY...

i already madded an topic for that but my parents dont want that's all! and i dont really want to make combustions, pneumatics are more powerful.
You're making relative statements about something you aren't fully knowledgable. It's the construction of a gun and the shooter that makes a gun unsafe or not...not whether it combustion or pneumatic. Also, a well built combustion with all the bells and whistles will amaze you with its power...easily rivaling or besting equivalent pneumatics!

But, I too have to ask the question everyone else is. If your parents won't let you build a combustion, why are you considering methane production in the first place?

I used to work in wastewater treatment many years ago. Its an anaerobic digester. Keep it wet, warm (about 98F), and mix daily (shake), and it'll produce a lot of methane and CO2. Poo would be better, its already at the point where gas production would be optimized.
