Ok i first of all have to say that i am starting to notice my idea will most probably have to be compromized due to the fact that i am asking for the impossible(correct me if i am wrong!). Second of all i think the best way to some what make what i am asking for is to have a tank with air that i will call my Main tank and my chamber this will work exactly as Gippetto suggested. Further more i think that having a rather limited supply of tools, due to the fact that i have just moved houses and am still planning a nice working space for my self, will highly limit the possibilities i have. I think, from what i am understanding now, i will have to abandon the idea of portability, but not the several shots. To answer the question Gippeto asked i have acsess to a Metal fundry, the normal hand operated Tools including screwdrivers, hammers ect. ect., i have a good electric screw driver, a bench grinder, a home made Lathe, and lots of electric motors and other spacre parts you can get from dumps. I hope this helps in helping me, as seen in my other Post i am not quite sure of how Piston valve works or id built. I one again thank you all in advance for all your help and ideas, hope to get some replys soon

wow really?i have acsess to a Metal fundry
I think you should use a QEV valve and malleable iron (lol that's what we call steel) fittings and pipes... a piston valve might be a bit too difficult for a first gun...
ohh and try to build a fridge compressor

The thing is there are no QEV valves here definately none under 100$(400 zloty!). i think i have piston valves figured out im unsure abot O-rings though, so im building my self a lathe. As soon as i find an old fridge ill make it a compressor and if not ill build a high powered piston compressor(high powed means about 200-300psi).

if you have relatives living in poland you can order a QEV on their adress...and then collect it when you visit them... you could have a 3/4" QEV for ~65 zl (shipping included)

A QEV valve is in fact a piston valve.. but it's an off the shelf part (not homemade) so you can expect it to be of higher quality...
1/2" and 3/4" QEVs cost only a little bit more than building homemade piston valves of the same size (well at least in poland).
I am trying to find a shop that shipps to switzerland... if I find one I'll PM you its adress

With a lathe and a foundry, you're set. You can make everything you need for a very good piston valved gun.

ok thank you all for you help, i guess i know what i have to do(and what not). Ill start building the gun as soon as possible.

YESS!!! Get the dremel!! They are extremely usefull for just about everything. Cutting, grinding, sanding, routing. If you don't get the cheap kind you get a whole lot of accessories with it.
Especially if you are making the wooden stock. That will help a heck of a lot.

Yh i got it today for about 100$ and i have to say im very happy, it cut through a bar o steel like nothing and nearly burnt a piece of woad on the highest speed(now i noe wat not to do!). Im sure this will really help me!
Actually I've found a dremel tool, a bench disk sander, and a small drill press all immeasurably valuable especially using PVC in spud gun construction.john bunsenburner wrote:ok thank you all for you help, i guess i know what i have to do(and what not). Yes, get one.
I can also vouch for the Dremel's use working with copper.starman wrote:Actually I've found a dremel tool immeasurably valuable especially using PVC in spud gun construction.
One word of advice - buy 3rd party unbranded tool sets, Dremel charge a fortune for theirs.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
