How good would the following design be for a one shot, in terms of power and what not. Just want some cheap thrills (around 300 fps) until I can get everything else I need to make something a little more complex.

Its basically a Pipe connected to a co2 pump.

It all depends on the flow rate of your CO2 pump. That should work, but it will be pretty expensive to replace the 12g cartridges after every shot.

plus it would suck...

plus those things have crappy flow, they have a tiny bleed hole to keep out liquid co2

I did do research, If you read carefully I just wanted some cheap thrills until I got all the things I needed for something more complex. Though thanks for replying.

Don't waste your money. Save it for "something more complex." Trust me, you'll be glad if you do. Unless you have all of the parts already, don't go out and buy them, since building a "more complex" gun will be much more satisfying. Besides, I don't think that will give you anywhere near 300 fps.

yeh fair enough. The reason is i do have those parts already. I just need to get the Piston Internals still. and then like have to build the piston and weld it together, since the springs gonna be stiff to allow for a large build up of pressure within the piston itself, just gonna be a while is all, and im impatient :D. I got it all sorted, just need parts.

I would highly suggest adding a hopup into the design.. like my Direct Feed BBMG design below:

Looks pretty good, I might do so, again this is until I get the stuff for the piston. Have you tested it? Wat FPS does it put out?

Damn, you guys are real encouraging.
For a plinker of around 300 fps or so, might i suggest making a mini combustion or are you stuck with pneumatics? With a longer barrel, a mini can have some decent power, and you dont have to bother with all those co2 cartridges.

Im kinda stuck with pneumatics, the reason is I have all the above, seeing as I got butchered  . I think i'll just wait till I have all the parts to build a piston.

Kuya, if you want something relatively small and easy to build. Just put together a sprinkler valve pneumatic. They’re relatively cheap and extremely easy to build. You can make it as simple as you want or as complex as your imagination allows.

Cheers! 8)

For a simple little plinker, its fine.. if you're feeling ambitious afterwards you can make a blow fore ward breech

Why stick with single shot when you can easily make yourself a handy "machine pistol" like this one?

Im planning to make that anyway =].

In response to Jack, I'd more of the Semi-Auto, Bolt Action and Single shot type =]. Why waste 30 ammo? When all you need is one well placed shot =]?
