ok a friend wanted me to build and desing a snow ball gun and i dont live were it snows so trile and error is out of the question. has anyone ever done it. I was thinking of a sabou but im not if it will brake because of the Gs, or air resistance........ i dont know to much about the subject.
you could just tell your friend to use one of these to make the ammo and just give him a normal spud gun

well thats what i was planning on doing with the regular spud gun but i think he using it for some sort of Extreme snow ball fight. so thanks ill tell him and if it dosent work with a sabou i think it shourly will
thanks
thanks
Ummm extreme snowball fight as in....shooting them at real live humans? It's cool to build him a spudder that shoots snowballs. However, you should discourage him from actually shooting them AT anyone.
Throwing a snowball at someone is one thing. Shooting one at someone with a spud gun is quite another very dangerous proposition.

Try something like http://myaircannons.com/snowballblaster.html that. Whatever you do, don't buy the plans, unless you don't understand it at all.

Ive build one of those once.... Awfully fun...FishBoy wrote:Unless you're shooting frozen snowballs, I doubt they would stay together when fired; they need to be accellerated more gradually, something like this would be much better.[/url]
Could you have found a worse picture? lol.

I would not suggest doing anything of the sort- someone will get hurt. Either from the weakend PVC or the recipient of a high velocity ball of ice.
The nifty pic that FishBoy found while skimming the internet for swimsuits (jk) is a great ide, if he is warring in a forested area. Surgical tubing or simple bungees for a sling between two trees can launch very large snowballs (think snowman's head) a large distance.

If you're 20 and not a liberal, you don't have a heart. If you're 30 and not a Conservative, you don't have a brain.
If tried shooting snowballs, it does not work out. You end up getting a burst of powder that travels a few feet. It could have been the fault of the cannon I used, operating it at 600PSI .

Yeah, 600psi would certainly powderize the snow.....Orpackrat wrote:It could have been the fault of the cannon I used, operating it at 600PSI .
If it snows again, I'll have to try the my newest launcher (this one I bought). It operates between 180PSI to 280PSI (if I remember correctly) with an internal regulator:starman wrote: Yeah, 600psi would certainly powderize the snow.....
