nah, 3/4 inches I got. Theres a monster thing getting close to 2 in (only got a glance), but she got all snappy and said it was working.
Got parts together for aluminium pen gun, gonna go get epoxy and glue tomorrow

Have you ever had a "minor upgrade" turn into "Holy $@#&! WTF am I doing????" 8 hours later?
The Gauntlet sprawled out and in several hundred pieces after deciding to upgrade the pressure gauge to the Husky regulator gauge. I then thought "ehh while I'm tinkering I might as well replace the chamber" (I've never been happy with the way I originally designed it)
(see the 2 chambers on the left side, also my cat deciding which bolt or washer she would like to eat)
I managed to reduce the amount of holes in the chamber from 12 to 6 (2 NPT 1/4 holes, 4 tiny holes for the fan and spark gap) and relocated the on/off switch from a very poorly placed in chamber design to just below the scope. (see link for images of the original) Plus a few little tweaky things.
Oh yeah word to the wise, a single accidental zap from a 100,000 volt circuit will kill a computer fan.

Jiminy christmas... that's one pile of Gauntlet there. Yeah I've had my guns broken down in bits before.... The good thing is they go back together much faster than they originally did... 8)Radiation wrote:ITWOST

ITWOST: Just getting back from my honeymoon I took to the gulf in Florida, then Orlando area, then Daytona beach and St. Augustine Florida (there were plenty of old cannons there! ).
I recently got married and the next day,the factory where I work announced they'd suprisingly shut down until after the fifth of Jan.
So it seemed like the best thing to do.
Been daydreaming about a burst disc cartridge constructed from a co2 cartridge with the round end cut off and a shraeder installed in the other end. It will be plugged into a bike filler c02 and the Burst disk would be either glue or hot glue or maybe aluminum foil somehow.
I've noticed most marbles fit almost perfectly inside the co2 with one end off. (got to be something that will atleast half impress a girl incase my new awesome wife catches me tinkering). But I've had my hands full with [other things] lately and just now wanting to tinker again.
Still no internet where I live and it looks like I've missed some awesome new posts on here
Also I'm wondering about those toy shockers (pens, lighters and even a laser pointer) I've seen with joke shock buttons.
They must be high voltage and maybe useful for mini-ignition(?) but I don't want to make a post on them right now.
Anyway thanks for reading, and for any replies on that. Be back soon. 8)

i just got a few 1" sprinkler valves. I finished the aluminium pen gun but the piston doesn't seal the barrel properly. I'll try again later.

ITWOST: Came up with an idea for installing the burst disk in a co2 cartridge (with the round-end cut off and shrader(internals removed) installed in the chopped neck side).
I plan to file the cut end of cart. like a spud cutter barrel.
Then hack the ends of a 2-liter to get a flat plastic sheet and cookie cut pieces out.
Then the plastic disc (or 2 or+) would be glued between two washers that fit inside diameter of the co2 cart.
Then I'll just epoxy a tube inside the cart. behind the washer,
and epoxy or weld a tube in front, leaving room for a marble, cast slug or shot shell or whatever in front.
IDK how much pressure it will take to burst that small diameter plastic.
The washers will restrict flow and they probably won't be reuseable.
But I'm guessing they'll be pretty loud, and I might try connecting one to my store bought aluminum blow gun dart barrel. 8)
Oh, IIRC the co2 cart.s fit inside spent 12ga. shells but IDK if they fit in a chamber like that. Sure would be cool to get a double (barrels only) off e-bay, and maybe use tiny ball valves to use one bike tire filler. But that's a lot of work to just have a pressure controlled trigger airgun.
BTW I posted a pretty crazy political daydream on Theopia today. Probably just a silly daydream really. 8)

Argh!
Is there some kind of conspiracy to stop me building cannons?
I go online to start ordering parts I need, and one part I cannot do without isn't in stock, as well as a number of parts I'd rather not do without.
Bugger. I haven't got all that much longer to order parts if I still want to get this thing built before I go back to uni.

You are only getting older Rag When do you go back to learning?
ITWOST the person below me is angry because his spudgun failed to fire..

Classes start on the 19th, but the move back over there is going to be the 17th at the latest.CasinoVanart wrote:You are only getting older Rag When do you go back to learning?
It's not a simple project, and with the short daylight hours, it's going to take at least a couple of days even if I work solidly.
Now, there is a certain amount of marking out I can do inside, when it's too dark to work outside (working inside is not an option), but it's still going to take time...
Hang on... If I just change that...

ITWOST: Dang!!!(ARGHH!!) My time is up almost and no time to read more of Gippeto's new creation. Or JSR's posts.
But I plan to cross the street and pick up more blow gun darts since I shot all the old one's out of my PB gun a long time ago. 8)
I did reply to my crazy dream on Theopia though but no time for more right now. Later fellows. 8)

ITWOST, made my first post here .
And discovered telescopic brass tubing at a hobby shop (I know, but new to me). Which makes life much easier, I've been trying to figure out how to drill or cast parts with small tolerances.
So that's one more step in refining the plans for hybrid cartridge v2. Man I wish I could find a way to make money at this and do it full time.
