today,i will present my combustion canon
I'm from patator'forum

-combustion canon with direct injection (mix 30% propan/70%butane)

Looks good but there are some (safety) issues.

1 That hose, Is it properly glued in?
2 You are using a brushed motor to rotate the fan. Brushed motors can spark and thus that means possible unwanted ignition.
3 You are holding your hand on a fueled chamber.

I'll say it again:
YOU ARE HOLDING YOUR HAND ON A FUELED CHAMBER
Never do that again okay?


How do you know how much fuel you are injecting? Simply counting the seconds or what?
How is the barrel connected? You are not simply shoving it in are you?

It's sticking with résine / epoxy.
for the fan, i have never problems of unwanted ignition
when i did the video i didn't know that the fan with brushed motors did unwanted ignition but i have never this problem with my combustion canon.

For the mix i count 10 seconds and the quick ventilation i count 5 seconds
i would like to put a meter on my combustion canon
but the pvc in France is not very resistant contrary to your pvc

I have seen French built cannons made of pressure rated PVC before.

Oh btw, julien, most people leave the fan on during firing. This increases the power of your shot by an extra few %.

What? you mean the French do have faults after all....?? And ah yes, there's some of that famed horribly expensive and always super rare French PVC... 8) In any case, a hardy welcome to Spudfiles!!

I would just like to reiterate psycix comments about the electric motor with brushes. I'm frankly surprised it didn't fire while you were loading the fuel. I know you may not have had trouble so far, but a motor with brushes is a major no-no in a combustion chamber. I like your side ways mounting, just use a brushless motor like a computer case cooling fan.

you don't need pressure rated PVC to build a feul meter, use what ever kind of pipe you can get that is safe for pressure,
