Metal ball valves are too expensive for me. A regular 1" sprinkler valve is $11.99 and a 1" brass ball valve is $16.99. All I use ball valves for are safetys(sp?).
And Spudstuff, the hardware store that I go to has all kinds of weird sizes. The thin walled 3/4" is like SDR-15.5 or something and the thin wall 1" is SDR-18. And as you know already the thinwall 1/2" is SDR-13.5.

I desperatly need a sprinkler valve. The damn punks in all hadware stores don't know what a sprinkler valve is.I was able to talk with a man from a garden disign company. He didn't look interested. He was talking about 40lv=26$, wich is 4 times more then I ever spend on a canon.

Hmm.. I thought the sprinkler valves were more expensive. The ball valve for me.. the 1 inch.. was only about $6 at my hardware store, and it was what I was familiar with.

Was it a plastic ball valve or metal? The plastic ones around here that are 1" are only $6.50 but are stiff and are only rated for 150 psi, though I've easily gone past 175 with them.

It's a steel ball valve, but not sure why it's so differently priced..

Spudstuff, my local hardware store carries sch 20 PVC.

...so, I geuss you guys don't have a problew with using sch 20 chambers on a hybrid? I mean, it's only exposed to high pressures for a couple dozen milliseconds...

(that said - the flow restriction of your valve and the light ammo will keep barrel pressures fairly low - probabably 1/3 of the input pressure or so, so it's probably trustworthy. Just don't add mass to your 'balls.)
