Hey guys, a couple of my friends are having an Asthetics contest to see who can make the most aesthetically pleasing gun. The gun was originally something else and Its up to you guys to guess what it originally was!
The whole gun is made out of plastic and epoxy putty. The barrels are made to look like worn metal and the grip is supposed to look like wood. All additional bodywork and paint was done by me. It does break open and you can load real 12 gauge shotgun shells into it. It also ejects them out.
Note: It is just a showcase shotgun and not an actual firing weapon. It will be used in an airsoft match which theme is a zombie infestation but not as an actual firing weapon.

I have to say it does look pretty good.
I only wonder about the foregrip being styled in the same distressed metal way as the barrels. Where did the wood go!
As for what it's made from... I can only hazard a guess at a large hinge or similar that you've built around, not a clue where from though.

Although the trigger seems awkwardly placed and it misses the triggerguard, I'm blown away by the beautiful barrel assembly.
Seems like it used to be a pump action shotgun. But you'd have to look real hard.
That thing is awesome!
Too bad it;s not a firing piece.
It could be you know.
You could hide a coax pengun in both barrels with schraders as the pilot.
I would take on Neospud in a game with only this, just to get a chance to play with that beauty!

highly modified old nerf gun.. Choped the whole back end off redid the back of it with epoxy, removed the trigger gaurd, reinforced the insides, filled in screw holes with epoxy, lots of sanding, lots of painting and I was done
The build cost was $7. The competition is actually to see who can make the most impressive looking nerf gun. I went with a more realistic look. Here is a picture of what it originally looked like:

Yes, and it ejects when you open. The original area where the "hammer" would be on the shotgun was too small and didnt allow for real shotgun shells, so I made the size a little larger so I can fit 12 gauge shotgun shells.
Wow thats sweet but the endcap looking things on the end of the barrels take away a little realness.
Oh and that paint job looks really familiar...
Ahh there it is worn metal

Hahaha good call veginator that was my first guess when I saw it I actually own that nerf gun. So does it shoot darts still? You said it doen't shoot but it should still work with darts. Great build David.
You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

yeah can you imagine turning that into this with all the body work and then getting the barrels to look like metal and the grip to look like wood... it was a challenge but it was fun.

I was the first person to be done. They are still working on theirs.Velocity wrote:Very nice looking piece of art you have there...mind posting some of the creations of the other competitors?
5 stars and a cookie on the "metal" parts.
Very nice job!
Recommendation for improvement:
-The trigger. Seriously.
-The wood could look more like wood.
