Sureshot BL-625 action video
JSR, Found some time to set up the pour. We had to heat the molds to around + 375° F before the tail started to fill nicely. Note the 9 volt battery and .177" (4.5mm) pellet in there for scale. Also a 2" UHMW blank for a pneumatic round we are planning. Oh, one of the first pellets that did not fill 100% was cut in half to show the skirt profile.

Action / damage video will be posted later when the new coaxial pnuematic gun is introduced.
Math says it should weigh .811 lbs, or about 368 grams.

Looking forward I take it the prototype Mike was telling me about worked well then?
The things you can do with a large machine shop. Yes, "It" does work well but there are a few technical issues. I do not want to steal his thunder. Another thing, I made the pellets to 1.5 sched 40, his test gun has an aluminum 2" sched 40 barrel. Oh well. When the VMC is open, there is a larger mold gonna be made...
Those "pellets" are amazing. With the weight of the 2" bore pellets nearing 1 lb and the new prototype easily running 200PSI (max current shop pressure) should be some serious energy. Replacement O-rings should be here soon!

I'm not sure about that really. The variance of slight changes and velocities plays a large part. Though however, when testing water rockets (same rocket, just different nosecone) the performance was greatly improved (max altitude) with a semi spherical leading edge. I wonder how many out there have experience with pneumatic intensifiers? We have endless 125 PSI shop air. So, with a 2.2 to 1 intensifier, we should easily see 250 PSI. Got most everything off Ebay. We will build one soon.

Will these molds be for sale at some point? Or would I have to come to you as a client? If for sale, any idea on a general price range for say a mold for 1 1/2" SCH10? I would love trying different materials to make the pellets out of.
