Sprinkler Valve Split Plastic?
I just bought a Rainbird CP-100 today for my pneumatic valve. When I was tapping the hole for the blowgun/nipple, I split the plastic. I filled the crack with quite a bit of J-B Weld (along with the nipple), but will that be enough to keep air from leaking out? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Post a picture. There's no way of answering that question correctly without one.

Actually, the only problem I made was not centering it perfectly... I know how sloppy my J-B Welding (?) is, but I'm not here to make a pretty cannon (I'm good enough for the cameras)... Aside from horrible humor, here are my pics...

It looks fine.

I would say that's ok, JB weld is reted to 8000 psi tensile strength. Make sure that you roughened up the plastic you were applying the cement to for a better hold.

I don't know where you got that information, but it is incorrect. Have a look;

Down a bit and on the right, under "properties".
To the OP, I cannot see that the crack went all the way through. If you properly cleaned and prepared (sanded) the area which the JB is bonding to, I don't see a problem with using it once it is fully cured.

sorry, I just looked at the jb weld package and it says 3960, sorry for the misinformation, for some reason I had 8000 psi in mind.
