I've seen a few airsoft rifles that have ejecting shells, but I've never seen a pistol before. Ejecting shells would be a pain in the butt during an airsoft game because you would have to pick them up, but it's a pretty cool feature I guess.

The ones I've seen so far use caps and electric cyling, this is the first gas-only system I've seen. For airsoft at least, theRAP4 series for paintball have been around for a while now.

The only one I've seen before was The UHC 9, which I believe is a spring powered gun. (although I'm not positive)

The caps and electric reminds me of my project that involves caps and manual cycling, but also solid propellant loaded to around 500 fps for breaking clay targets without going to far and ruining stuff.

Sweet find JSR, I have shot a shell ejecting sniper before, but I don't know if it was gas only or gas and electric cycling...

looks like replacement shells could be made with o rings superglue and real shell casings, either 9mm or 40sw.

Edit: I think I will be getting a simunition conversion kit for my AR-15. Thats about as real as you can get. Lol see if they would let me take that one into an airsoft game.

If you're playing airsoft, especially in a natural environment, no doubt about that. But if this isn't what you use it for the cool rating is undeniable :)

Basically what I tried to achieve here but without much in the way of power. The solution would seem to be to extract the cartridge after the projectile has left the barrel, as opposed to the blowback solution I was pursuing.

Here's a design I thought up, combining cartridge feed with a gas piston similar to how the FX Monsoon works. Obviously the rod in this case would have to be at the side, it is illustrated on top for clarity. It would be opposite the ejection port, and along it there would have to be a structure that the cartridge strikes in order to tip it out.

Not the simplest of projects but probably workable, hmmm...
