Nice work crowley. My golf ball gun, thanks to you, does some very impressive damage not unlike that video. I just don't have anything as interesting as speakers to break

Haha I know what you mean, I rarely find anything to shoot these days. Over the years i've found a watermelon, a mini fridge, a DVD player and now speakers. Probably awhile before my next video haha.
Thanks for the comments guys

DVD player eh? That reminds me - I think I have an old VCR player which could be fun to break. I'll see what I can do. I'm doing a damage compilation of my launcher at the moment. I shot a rockmelon haha, had a similar effect as your watermelon

Nice, but imagine what it would have looked like in high speed
The EX FC-100 has a very good macro setting btw

hehehehehe I'll see what happens. My soon-to-be housemates have forbidden my golf ball gun, for good reason too. So hopefully more high pressure small calibre projects to come. I'm studying engineering so I think this hobby is fitting.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:I was so busy filming that I missed a couple of meals anyway, guess it could work out

New video on the first page. This time it's dualed off against Slim Biggin's.
You guys are probably getting used to seeing my garage clothes about now. God knows how much JB-Weld is stuck on those boardshorts

Nice vid!!! Did the camera break at the end? Or was that just temporary? Anyway, great vid. I've been wanting to make a cannon similar but my funding has been in paintball...

Na, it's just a video effect I found on Sony Vegas
By the way, this video took about an hour and a half to make, I've been trying to break away from the typical spudgun videos by making them a little more professional and appealing.

I just built a cannon based on your drawings and plans. I tried to make it exactly like your design. For the piston I turned a block of wood on a lathe, it slides easily in the gun. I used a piece of rubber on the face and it seals well. However, when I activate the pilot the chamber air goes out the pilot and the piston stays put until the air is exhausted at which time it opens. The only change I made to your plan was to shorten the piston 1cm and I haven't added a rubber bumper yet. Could this make my pilot volume too large? Is there something else I should be looking for? I have looked through hundreds of posts looking for a fix.

@ Pibster, reduce the amount of air that can blow past the piston to the chamber. The excess air is keeping the pilot pressure too high preventing it form firing. This is a common mistake. You want that leak almost completely sealed off for it to work properly. The EQ port is TINY.
