I still think that 3mm is not enough.... .177 or .20" would be better

It's a question of my surroundings, completely urban so smaller is better. As you can see from the videos using HPA even 3mm is pretty scary.I still think that 3mm is not enough.... .177 or .20" would be better
I'm giving serious consideration to the Gatling idea, basically a vortex block BBMG with spinning barrels - not an innovative concept but I haven't seen it done yet. One thing I'd need made is the barrel disks as they have to be precise and I don't have the facilities for such small scale precision, any takers?

what's the point of it ? AFAIK you want to lower the ROF not increase it... well IMO you'd spend your limited time better improving the o-ring detent idea

Gatling good, it would be more about a cool little project (that the small calibre makes feasible) than attempt to change performance.POLAND_SPUD wrote:what the point of it?

Nice link...MOAR DAKKA baby!
Anyway....
If you were to take two discs..drill a hole in the center and then insert a bolt through them...
You could rotate it with the bolt as the center.
Put it under a drill press and all holes will be equally spaced from the center.
All you need to do is draw on the angles to space them evenly far apart.
Ofcourse you would need a drillpress with one of those tables attached to fix the bolt....but it's not that hard..

Oh god, last time I went to that site, I ended up with over 600 tabs open, clicking through each one saying "omg that's so true".jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Gatling good, it would be more about a cool little project (that the small calibre makes feasible) than attempt to change performance.POLAND_SPUD wrote:what the point of it?
Back on topic, you might want to look at the technique for laying out adapter plates for lathe chucks. Basically you scribe a circle of whatever diameter, and use a prick punch on a random point on that line. you plug in the angle and diameter into a formula (too lazy right now)and get the linear distance between centers of the holes. you then go around the circle, marking with the scribe and prick punching. If you made it back to the start point, good job, center punch and drill. if not, scream, cuss, and try again... I would countersink the holes somehow, so it would feed better. Might jam though...

He was the guy I had in mind, let me drop him a PM.

Gents, got it. I guess 5.5 tons would make it big.... I did a Cad drawing of the dims and they look like they need to be tweaked. I can also machine a block so the barrels don't twist around the center axis. Yes, we can make a lot of them if needed.

Cheers you were right about the dimensions being wrong, disk O/D should be 1", not 0.75".
I only need about 3 but who knows, I might start a trend
