spring airsoft
ok guys! so i wanna make a spring airsoft gun and im having problems with how to cock the gun and a trigger set up .
all i can think of is a rod too pull back the spring but i want to make is much more like pull back loading system.
(not lathes or any kind of crafting tool. :'( so it would help if i could make the parts easy to build)
thanks.

Look over some of the various Nerf sites. They have homemades in their, which are mostly spring guns. The same can apply to airsoft, but probably on a bigger scale.

The sheer scale of linguistic butchery in this thread tears at my very soul.
Anyway, I don't see anything here that says airguns are banned. You should be fine. As for cocking the piston, you could try using a one piece trigger and sear with a tab on the piston to engage the sear, and have the piston tube slide rearward inside the gun to pull back the piston. As for ease of build, you will need tools. You really can't get around it. A hacksaw and a file is the bare minimum you will need, but a dremel and a drill will make it far easier.
The vast majority of airsoft guns in this forum use no moving parts, and use either a vortex block or a cloud chamber (look those up on the wiki), reason being that small parts are very difficult to work with. Good luck though.

like what hubb said check out the nerf haven forums for inspiration on building springers, they're same thing with a different barrel, in fact you can just buy a single shot nerf gun and hot glue a bic pun tube inside the barrel unless nerf guns are illegal too

Heres an example of the nerf gun version iknowmy3tables mentioned, this one claims to shoot 250 fps and uses a carbon fiber arrow for the barrel

I could see a Nite Finder getting that velocity with an airsoft round.clemsonguy1125 wrote:Heres an example of the nerf gun version iknowmy3tables mentioned, this one claims to shoot 250 fps and uses a carbon fiber arrow for the barrel

Ive tried thit with a bic pen and probably got around 125 fps, so I agree thats probably possible with a arrow barrel
lol~ thanks gus. but im thinking of how big the chamber with the plunger has too be . and @SEAKING9006 wont the performance go down if there are two slits on the sides of the inner chamber?
[edit] then again i also have to find the spring :/

No, it shouldn't. Take a look at the clear plastic spring pistols next time you go to walmart. Nearly every production uses thish scheme. The sear catch is near the rear of the piston, and the piston tube doesn't need to move far to engage it. There would only be one slit, behind the sealing face of the piston so it wouldn't affect performance in the least.
I'd suggest researching this further before you build anything.

Here you go. The concepts are so similar that all you need to do is buld the same thing with an airsoft barrel. He also has a lot of magazine feeding going on in some other projects, so you might want to check those out too.
