I reckon for airsoft maybe 1" and with 177cal probably 3/4"

But to be honest, do you realy need to have that high ROF?
To make the block you could use bondo and drill into it?
you will want to shorten the barrel
Most normal BBMGs are not that powerful anyway so i would keep the barrel at a good length because the power would be pathetic.

What pressures will you be running at?

actually, the Gator LX had(according to its creator) about 400 fps at around 50 RPS, which if playing airsoft is pretty much perfect. however, it was a cloud, not a vortex

i think that a smallest hole you can use would give you use would give the best rof since the ammo covers less ground to find the barrel

I was using aluminum for the block, and am not sure what psi i would be running at, Either regulated co2 and like 120 ish or from an hpa tank. And i have a spare ak47 airsoft barrel that I am using for it.

Yeah shortening the barrel will decrease the power but increase the rof but if sounds like you've already decided on the barrel
That is all.

how does shortening the barrel affect rof? i guess it allows another bb to be sucked into the barrel quicker because the last of is gone faster? Think im going to use an HPA to power mine, is there any regulators that will bring a 3000 psi tank down to about 200 instead of 800 like the one that comes on the guerilla 62/3000?

well, it depends what your looking for. if you want a gun to play airsoft with, its pretty much perfect. however if you want a gun to put a hole through a 2x4 in 2 seconds, its not that great.

Get a palmers reg http://www.palmer-pursuit.com/cart/inde ... cts_id=883 .

They go from 0-200 and are reasonably priced, or you could get a kobalt reg from lowes.

It is a very good deal. But then you have to factor in a asa adapter, hose and fittings and an hpa tank at then you will be at around 70 to 100 dollars.
Yeah, it's that important.
