I leaned into mine when shooting a Gaiteraid from the hip. I had to take a stop back. Keys were in the wrong place in my pocket and I got a huge bruise launching this one. The cannon is a 2 inch valve with a 3 inch barrel.

Edit; Found the link to the bottle launch. I was trying real hard to not take a step back.

To he honest, the holding stance is a little awkward, so the recoil isn't necessarily absorbed as in a "conventionally" stocked launcher.

Nice job going bigger, but please circumcise that piston :) that length of bolt is adding needless weight and restricting airflow, making JSR cry.

JSR, if you want to cry, I should send you a photo of the piston from one of my very early designs. I could send you a photo of the piston out of my "Light Saber" from the Star Wars era. It was very long. The cannon sucked big time.

We all were beginners at one time or another. I was not a member of Spudfiles back then. Saved me a lot of embarrassment. On the down side, I didn't learn from others before trying stupid designs.

There was a time over 10 years ago that I thought my 75 psi ball valve marble gun was friggin' AWESOME, ah the innocence of youth :)

...or my DWV pneumatic with a 3" cell-core chamber and 3/4" barrel (modded sprinkler valve, though)...

Yeah it is almost impossible to shoulder fire this one, I now shoot it with the handle resting on a stand and the recoil is easier to absorb.

A little small on the valve for the chamber. Sigh.

ABS makes very nice low pressure launchers. Mine can still punch holes in dead appliances.

D Cell fired from a golfball barrel made this hole. I would have loved to have gotten a high speed video of the making of this hole.

Just for grins, used the marshmallow cannon with a golf ball barrel and golf ball to finish off the plastic basket and remove the stuck agitator.

Very nice, the paintjob and breech-loading provisions look great.

On a similar note to your update, my very first shot with my first piston-valved golfball cannon ricocheted off a tree and flew past me (although with a good few feet of clearance).

Haha nice one, the speed of the ball off the block was very fast, close to the speed at which it hit the block. Thanks for the comment. The little couplings need some major modding now that I painted it, they can't slide over the barrel easily anymore but I got the solution. I think I might start a new thread, this one is getting a little long and I have so many updates that it don't look like Superna anymore

The gun is modeled after MrCrowley's, yes, but stock is different and the piston is different. But he did inspire this gun.
Cool to be of inspiration. On my VAL I'm actually planning on cutting off the back stock, takes up unnecessary volume and adds weight. It was only added because the cannon was for a school assignment and it had to be ergonomic.

Nice cannon though, glad it seems to be working well. It sucks living in the 'burbs though, doesn't it? Constantly worried about ricochets and what not.
