It's going to cost you a lot of money to run a cloud off of small co2 canisters. You will get around 3 seconds of firing out of each canister. Even if cost is no issue, it will be annoying having to change canisters all the time.

but surely if they are used in that device for a jet of air for cleaning computers they would be ideal. i have seen people use the bike inflators and this is much the same? btw those little canisters are used in airsoft so they cant be too inneficient.
i would like to know if anyone has actually done this so they can give me tips before i waste my money on it...

dont do it.

as siad above, you will get aprox. 3 seconds of firing time.... not to mention that the 12g co2 carts will cost more than the ammo you are shooting.... which is expensive enough in a bbmg.

if you want to use c02..... try a regulated paintball tank.

That device for cleaning uses a very restricted flow, tiny compared to what you're looking at for a cloud. Yes, it is possible to inflate a bike tire off a CO2 cartridge, but only because the pressure in the bike tire usually only goes to 60psi. That cartridge, I think is around 850psi. Those little canisters are used in airsoft because they dispense a small volume into a separate valve system, and at lower pressure than the CO2 cartridge.

I know from personal experience that if you just punch a hole in that cartridge you'll get about 5 seconds of time, but it'll only be at all impressive for the first two seconds.

The only good option for running a cloud is to run it off a large tank.

In my opinion, your best option is to buy a floor bike pump, and make large-ish chamber out of steel or aluminium pipe and either attach it to your gun, or put it in a backpack and run a line to your gun. I have gone down the co2 route before and I implore you not to.

A fire extinguisher is a good option for an air tank and provides a lot of air. I use my new bike pump to put mine up to about 180 psi.
