Aussie Paintball Gun
What did you use as a barrel, find some suitable pipe at Bunnings perhaps??,would be good to set this up running your Soda Stream Gun.
If I ever get my shit together, thats what I'll try do as I cant be bothered trying to manually pump up pnuematics anymore

So, do you think you could use the barrel from the original toy gun and the paintballs in a vortex setup or would they break apart in the vortex?
I have a warmig if your buying your PVC pipe from Bunnings. DO NOT BUY THE PIPE THERE it when BOOM!!!!!! on me at 80 psi after 100 or so shots that was the barrel and that was the only pipe i bought from Bunnings. You can buy the PVC fittings from there that is fine if you wanna buy pipe go to an irrigation store!!!!!!!
( the barrel Exploded at 80 psi it shot a 3 inch long pvc bit 10 metre's away from me)

Was the pipe pressure rated or DWV? I've had issues with bunnings DWV end caps in just simple spray and pray combustion cannons, had a few crack or burst, but I'm fairly sure that the pressure rated pipe they sell is made by vinidex, and I've never had a problem using that.
Hmmm tough one.. They are decently solid, but then again, I know nothing of the forces inside a vortex..though it would get pretty expensive if you were running these things in a full auto vortex style gun..So, do you think you could use the barrel from the original toy gun and the paintballs in a vortex setup or would they break apart in the vortex?
They are tough enough to be dropped from head height and just bounce back up.. surprisingly bouncy actually

Yeah the cost would be massive although if their size and weight slowed down the rate of fire then it might not be so bad. That said they might break up from being knocked around too much inside the vortex but then I wouldn't know either. It'd be pretty cool to make a proper paintball marker style hopper work with these on a setup similar to the soda stream bbmg you got going. Are they strong enough to use a detent or hop up?

The one near me does, had a look today but the range is pretty useless. Like they have one size of pipe, with no fittings that size, and fittings that fit pipe sizes that they don't even stock.
Also, has anyone tried using these in modded nerf guns? Because they're also roughly .50 cal (well, the one I measured up is, but not sure how consistent nerf gun breeches are)

Oh dude that sucks! Did you have much time to get out? I haven't been in to the main part of brissy yet just helping out in other places. I saw what happened in toowoomba, never seen anything like it. I'm pretty lucky where I am!
Yeah sorta.. We moved everything upstairs, and we are just hoping it doesnt get that high.. The SES was using the bottom of our street as a boat ramp this morning haha.. by midday the water was up to our house.
Heres a pic of what it looked like before and after, about 50 from our place.
