i like this a lot and i am going to try it. I am on a FIRST robotics team and we have A LOT of bimba actuators laying around. i am just curious as to why you have to bore the rod out or add a pin. These things move fast. If you line it up right, i would think that the rod would retract a fraction of an inch at fractions of a second to uncover the air hole and fire your ammo. I cant really explain it that well but i am just wondering if boring it out is even necessary

that's what I was trying to say... and no you don't need a machined T (but yeah, if you use Ts the stroke will probably be a little bit longer... )

and yeah boring out an air cylinder rod is kind of stupid, you know... build a mutha...... screw on rod
