Hi guys,
I've been searching for airguns lately and found this piece from MEtro 2033 (great game btw)


I wonder if any of you has an idea how i could rebuild this beauty in RL?

Yes, I have a few ideas of how this couls be built in real life.

Nice looking gun. It shouldn't be too hard to replicate. Cut out the stock and foregrip mount the chamber in place with a ball valve going up to a coaxail piston valve. Pilot could be a blowgun or something like that Not sure about the pump. It wouldn't work properly as the pump chamber is too wide and short.

make the stock out of wood you can use a fire extinguisher for the tank, and a inline hammer valve if you want it semi if not just a colax.

for the pump buy a shocky and dress it up to look the that one, because that one will give low pressure high volume. you could use it to top off the bit tank not for the first fill tho

a good coat of paint and little bits off random metal screwed should look nice

Thanks Qwerty, nice idea, only I think I wont use a coaxial, as there is no proper way (at least none I know of) to integrate a magazine later on. I will think about this for a while, so keep the ideas coming.

Are there any blowguns that can withstand higher pressures but are not as bulky as pressure washer handles?

Nice idea, I love inlines, but have struggled on getting a nice and compact one. I will see what I can find

On a related note: are there some Blowguns that can withstand pressures above 20 BAR or so?

There may be some, but you probably wouldn't want to use one, because the pressure inside the valve would make it incredibly difficult to open, and probably ruin any increased comfort from the valve style.

In my experience, "normal" metal shop blowguns are fine to just over 30 bar without leaking or blowing up, I've used them at this pressure many times without incident though as saefroch pointed out they are rather harder to open. If you have higher safety standards however, you might want to consider a pressure washer gun.

I think both options have their appeal. Making something slick and "tactical" like the virtual Thor PDW is always impressive, I just think it's important not to forget that in their function, even rudimentary launchers have their own aesthetic appeal, particularly those with exposed operating parts.

I didn't think they would withstand such pressures, but OK, I'll give it a try.
That might also add tothe look. And though safety should never be ignored, I guess when they hold 30 bars with ease, 20 should not be a problem.

Labtecpower: yes, nice one But Hybrid, I don't like them too much, makes stuff too complex in my opinion.

I used one of the cheapo $10 inline all metal blowguns at anywhere from 100-400 psi for countless shots and it held fine.

Ok thanks, Ill go to the shop and buy one soon. Meanwhile I'll construct a proper design, but I think the pump will have to wait for the moment.

The gun in Metro 2033 works with a lever-pump, it's not an inline pump. So big pressures can be used. The firing system is a hammer valve. The big chamber is pressurized to a certain pressure, and then the bolt cocks the hammer back in firing position. It also has a tubular magasine, round balls falling in the breach when bolt opens.
You could do this design fairly easily.
Think of the crossman 1377c for the pump, and firing mecanism. Just add a bypass manifold so that the pump fills the primary chamber and not the firing chamber.
