I did a few searches on here and google and came up dry.
Will my air hose blow if taken to high pressures? like 500psi?
And if it will, what should I get to replace it? Do I need to make my own?

Plenty of hose on eBay that will take 4500 psi with 1/8 NPT male threads on each end.

You might also want to get some quick connect fittings:

I ordered that hose and got it in the mail yesterday- perfect for what I need! Thanks JSR!!
I got an old air compressor for the tank yesterday also- but I'm not sure how it will work. It is a little too big at 8 gallons and I don't know if I feel safe putting 500psi in it. That and it will take a long time to fill up.
How much pressure do you think it's good to with my fridge compressor? Working pressure is rated at 120psi.
Right now I'm thinking it's useless but it's a strong metal tank maybe it'll work?

Don't use it for the fridge compressor. It's far too big and not strong enough. What you're looking for if you want an accumulator for the fridgy is a small CO2 fire extringuisher.
Don't take its strength for granted:Right now I'm thinking it's useless but it's a strong metal tank maybe it'll work?
What you can use it for if the compressor still works is to feed 120 psi to the fridge compressor to have it build pressure up quicker.

Oh my god! Was that a member on here's tank? That looks gnarly!
My free compressor is dead,, the motor still works but the rest of it has gone to hell. Air intake was almost plugged w/ dirt.
I have a couple other compressors that I could hook up the the intake! I will do that soon.
And now I'm on the sprawl for a co2 fire extinguisher! A small one I'm assuming is roughly as large as a 2L pop bottle?
I made some nail darts out of paper, hot glue, and a 16 penny framing nail. I shot at some 5-ply 3/4" plywood.
Both shots were at 250psi. First shot was at about 20' and aim was spot on. When clean through the plywood and particle board behind it and the two peices of wood got stuck together tight. 2nd shot at 30' (distance between my house and the fence) was within 6" of where I was aiming.
(pics blurry, there was some condensation on the lens, it is really hot and humid out)

No, but it does happen, make sure to drain the moisture out every now and then:metallover wrote:Oh my god! Was that a member on here's tank? That looks gnarly!
On the prowl, surely yes, 1-2 litres should be a decent accumulator without stressing the fridgy too much. And now I'm on the sprawl for a co2 fire extinguisher! A small one I'm assuming is roughly as large as a 2L pop bottle?

Thanks for the advice JSR!
I have been looking for an "accumulator" for awhile now because the compressor had problems starting up between shots. Today I realized it wasn't getting hot it just has trouble starting when there is pressure in the output! I had a 25' hose on the end of it before that would stay at about 200psi,, no wonder it had trouble starting!
Now if I take all the pressure out of the [small] hose, it starts fine. If I can find an old fire extinguisher, I'll take it and use it,, but I'm not too crazy about it anymore.
I got some work done today
Other than that, I got the new hose on and fired a few shots at 300psi. It shot very well, and was pretty loud!
I put some cloth and steel wool in the Tee in an effort to catch some of the oil that makes it out.
I also got rid of some pilot volume.
I dunked it in some water and the only significant leak is from the piston. I need to lengthen my piston as it gets out of line some times,, Maybe I can lap the valve a little better and hope the leak stops....
Starting at 300psi I was down to 260psi after 1 minute and down to 210psi after 2 minutes.
But I'm very happy with how things are going!!!
