Come on that's way to on topic.
Sorry. I did not pay enough attention to the thread title..

Who made that speech? I know what the image resembles, but the speech was not about a superior race, so I have no idea who made that speech.

Totally offtopic, a doctor was having trouble with his well pump and tried fixing it. In the process he fell into the well. The moral of the story is the doctor should have attended to the sick and left the well alone.

Thanks.. I'll be here all week.

Classic and groanworthy as ever :D
I hope it says "Do not look directly into the operational end of the device" somewhere...
The slide should say "the device has been modified" :D

This is the human condition, people exist on both sides of the spectrum with everyone in between, and this is the way civilisation has survived and will continue to survive.

A much more relevant, if crudely presented and definitely NSFW, is the bar speech from Team America.

No prizes for guessing in which of the above categories Chaplin's speech falls under ;)

cockpit

1580s, "a pit for fighting cocks," from cock (n.1) + pit (1).
Used in nautical sense (1706) for midshipmen's compartment below decks; transferred to airplanes (1914) and to cars (1930s).

I want to make a new gun with aluminium parts. I don't like to weld it, because of the material weakening.

Does anyone have experience with using epoxy at flat surfaces that will be pulled away from each other?

It's kind of long but one of my favourite Chaplin films. IIRC, Albert Speer wrote in one of his books (Inside The Third Reich (great book by the way)) that Hitler watched the film twice but his opinion on the film is not known. May sound a bit far fetched but you have to remember that Hitler would watch at least one film every night with his favourite staff for much of the war.

OLD and dumb State Laws still on the books

http://www.dumblaws.com/laws/united-states

Here are some of Arizonas "Finest":

Any misdemeanor committed while wearing a red mask is considered a felony.

There is a possible 25 years in prison for cutting down a cactus.

Donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs.

When being attacked by a criminal or burglar, you may only protect yourself with the same weapon that the other person posseses.

It is unlawful to refuse a person a glass of water.

You may not have more than two dildos in a house.

Cards may not be played in the street with a Native American.

If you bother the cottontails or bullfrogs, you will be fined.

No more than six girls may live in any house.

A decree declares that anyone caught stealing soap must wash himself with it until it is all used up.

An ordinance prohibits the wearing of suspenders.

No one is permitted to ride their horse up the stairs of the county court house.

In Tombstone, It is illegal for men and women over the age of 18 to have less than one missing tooth visible when smiling.

Women may not wear pants.

So what is wrong with these?

I just checked the law near me.. When I visit Seattle I can't hide my launcher under my coat..
You may not carry a concealed weapon that is over six feet in length.

There's a more stringent version of this in D.C., my sister just encountered it because she can't live with a friend, her aunt, and roommate because doing so is considered a brothel.

EDIT: That site is dumb.
It wrote:Ministers are forbidden from performing marriages when either the bride or groom is drunk.

All liquor stores must be run by the state. (Anyone who lives in PA is familiar with this, and though it's a minor inconvenience, they are incredibly well-staffed.)

Dynamite is not to be used to catch fish.

Operators of bingo games may not advertise the prizes offered.
IMO, all of those are sensible enough (I'd even vote for three of them).

Are those 'laws' in velocity's post still in existence? I remember an ex once quoted me a bunch of similar laws and I looked for them in the state's law index (or whatever you call it) and couldn't find them so concluded they were made up/old laws that aren't still in the law books.
