I do have to add that discussing dry ice bombs isn't allowed on the forum, we just prefer to not associate the forum with such devices in case the media ever have a reason for visiting this site.

seams much easier/cheaper to just thread a hose barb into a end cap and fill with compressed air.

sure it will work but not the right way of doing it, as jsr said solvent weld should be strong enough by its self but the problem is DWV fittings have short socket depth so there isn't much holding it on.

removed by moderator. well anyway, your choice, i could get these cheap when you could get yours for... idk, cheap also? depends on location, person and funds.

true enough, it depends on what type of fitting and what type of material is being used, but riveting the piece while doing a neat solvent weld should yield the most results.
its like asking why did they even invent rivets when welding can be used more effectively >,>
