QEV for pneumatic claymore

Hi all,

I am new to this forum, and also new to QEV's.
(Never worked with them before...)
I finally found one, so I'm ready to start building my claymore...

But I've got one problem: I don't know how to install this kind of QEV!
I searched for a long time, but couldn't find the answer...
Here is a picture of my QEV,
could please somebody help me?

The exhaust port would go to the barrel of paintballs in the mine.

The cylinder port would go to your local air chamber.

The other port is used for both filling the air chamber by adding air, then firing it by releasing air back out.

I hope this makes sense. Instead of operating an air cylinder, we are simply storing air pressure instead. Instead of venting the cylinder out the exhaust port just to let air out of a cylinder, we connect our projectile chamber there. The last port is used to charge the system and then pilot the shot.

You will want 2 valves to this setup. One to add air, and another one to let air back out as a trigger device.

So if I got it right:
I can use my blowgun (connected to "P") for filling my chamber (connected to "A"). When filled, i can use my blowgun as a trigger, the air of my chamber will go through the claymore (connected to "R"); Right?

I guess I can start building! I will show the result!

How do you plan on triggering your claymore? If it's by tripwire, you want something that needs a lighter pull than a blowgun, personally I would go for a ball valve.

why not a tyre valve? commercial qevs can be pilot with one.

All you need to do to activate a QEV with a ball valve and tripwire is to tie the wire to the ball valve handle. With a schrader you'd have to make some sort of lever or hammer mechanism to activate it... it would work, but would need more effort.

Lucas, if it helps I always think of the ports as P=pilot A=air chamber R=release (of air) I don't know if this is what they really are but it helps me

I used your advise, I installed a ball valve.
You are right, it will be more sensitive...

My glue and paint are drying, in a few hours, I will do a test with ammo!
The test without ammo was good, at 8bar, it gave a strong blow!
I only hope that the pressure will be strong enough to shoot six barrels...

I did a first test with ammo at 5.5 bar, for so far good...
Next test at 8 bar!
