Nope.

This was a joke article ;)

Thanks for the humorous link Jacks,

but as stated, dimpled golf balls do fly better than smooth ones.

I don't think we can compare an aerodynamic bullet, coming out of a rifled barrel, with a sphere, exiting a smooth bore.

I'll have to do some field tests... regardless, .43g is gonna be way better :)

Cheers.

That may be true, but we're in a different velocity range here, so I don't think the comparison stands. Humanity wastes a heck of a lot of energy fighting drag in general, if there was any benefit of dimples on objects travelling at high subsonic velocities, airliners would be covered in them ;)

Ultimately, if you want the ultimate destructive performance without changing any of the launcher specs, you should go for steel BBs.

I find that using HPA lets even plastic BBs be pretty destructive though, this is with 0.25g plastic BBs with 850 psi behind them:

Very nice. Hope you stick around and continue to build with us. And the stop motion assembly is priceless...

I need to stop looking at awesome milled parts :? After a while I decided to buy a lathe but now you're making me want a mill too
Anyway, lovely gun, love all the machined parts!

O-rings would improve efficiency but in practice you would not notice the difference with a tight fit.

Thanks for the kind words to all.

I didn't use o-rings, just a snug fit, like JSR said.

I'm not around much but just popped in to browse for some idea's, stay tuned...
