burst disc material
my current cannon doesnt use a burst disc system . the ball just sits in the barrel and is held in place by a ball catcher i made. i want to refit the gun to use burst discs. any ideas on material to use for a 15,30, and 45 psi burst disc? the gun is made of sch80 pvc and im using starting ether for fuel.

I just retrofitted my air cannon the other day to take burst discs by cutting the barrel and adding in a union coupling. I just sandwich in about 4 layers of tin foil cut in circles in the union.
Here is the thread.

also, for your question on what to use for 15, 30, and 45psi bursting pressures, you may have to experiment. I use 3 layers of al foil for around 45psi, but bursting pressure isn't constant for number of layers, and also different brands of foil may have different properties (one brand might burst at 10psi, whereas another might burst at 13 etc,)
check the wiki, it's what I used as a rough guide

I use plastic drawer liner from home depot. A good sized roll is like 5 bucks and it will make hundreds of discs. A single sheet is good for about 30psi, but they have tougher plastics also.
