Ok so worship him. I came here legitimately for help, not to get harassed. How was I supposed to know that buckings were so expensive? Thats why I came here and asked what I thought were considerate spudgunners what would be the best option.

3$ isnt much you guys are right, but god damn its like most of yall are out to flame. This is worse than ST on pbnation.

bobgengeskahn is the only one who helped with no smart ass comments.

I'm not new to this forum, I dont need spoonfeeding assholes on my ass over a LEGITIMATE question. Of course I did some searching before on my own. I couldnt find the answer so I came here which I though was still full of respectable mature spudgunners but now I realize most of you guys are probably 13 with a severe adhd problem.

Thanks for the help bobgengeskahn

And JSR, you could of atleast answered my question like an adult instead of making your other buddies on here laugh at a shitty picture. Yes its all in good fun, but damnit c'mon man.

Because you realize "it's all in good fun".....don't you think you're over-reacting?

It was just good natured teasing. I think you should forget it and stay with us.

dungdue0,

If you understood what message the picture was trying to convey (admittedly, I did not until I looked at the image URL), you would surely realise that the picture is equal to saying "Dude, it's like 3 dollars, just buy it", but in picture form. If that's the case, which it almost certainly is, I don't see why you object to the picture but not the reply "Dude, it's like 3 dollars, just buy it" since they say the same thing. The picture also had added benefit of being funny, light-hearted and a less boring way of saying "Dude, it's like 3 dollars, just buy it".

I think since you didn't understand what the picture meant when it was first posted, you rightfully complained (I would too if it seemed like someone posted a random picture to a question of mine). But now that it has been cleared up and you know the meaning of the photo, there is surely no reason to continue your complaint.

I've been here over 6 years, have almost lost complete interest in the forum and hobby several times and have been moderating for a majority of those 6 years. If people like JSR didn't post funny pictures every now and then in response to seemingly ridiculous questions, I would lose any interest (so would many other 'senior' members) in this forum. I'm sick of going over and over basic topics and answering the same basic questions (your topic is not an example of either, by the way) but that is the price we pay for having an active community here.

If we weren't allowed to have a little bit of fun now and again, there would be no 'senior' members left and the forum would slowly die in an almost-never ending torrent of unanswered questions by angry thirteen-year-old's.

tl;dr—JSR just commented that my first love was a vacuum cleaner. We're only having a bit of fun here.

edit: just posted this as you posted your reply, guess this rant wasn't required.

Eveyone gets teased and what not, none of it's harsh or meant to piss you off. Just like your friends would do to you. Matty a couple weeks ago said some crap to me that sounded harsh about my episode but i just went with it and gave him a better episode so it would shut him up hahaha. Sorry Matty. Everyone on this forum is here to help for the most part, and if someone makes a comment you don't like don't feed it just move on and it will be ignored. Everytime i come here for help or to show the guys my new episode they give me help along with critisism and some give you a hard time but it's all in good fun.

Oh I knew what the pic meant (with the quote anyways) I was just offended by how █████ it was said. Like I was supposed to know already or some crap.

Joke away but atleast dont leave a █████ comment and please just try to answer the question █████. Thats all I'm saying. And have you ever thought that just maybe 3$ is out of my price range. Why the hell else would I ask?

Clearly you're not thinking about the long term here. I'm sure you don't want to ostracise yourself from this community so this is your opportunity to just drop it and move on. No one's going to remember or care about this unless you make a big deal out of it.

If that were the case, this wouldn't be the hobby for you. Anyway, the photo JSR posted was reasonable in response to this topic. That's not to say that the topic should have ended with his reply, merely that it was a fair observation and a harmless one at that. If I see a post that is a useless response to a question, I will probably delete it. I knew your original question would be answered eventually (I probably would have deleted any posts that further derailed the topic) and JSR's reply was simply what we were all thinking anyway.

As said previously,I respect JSR and you Mr Crowley aswell. I know how you guys are, laid back but moderate. I''ve realised this and I do apologize for making a scene because you're right. No one will remember or care about it, but have you ever heard of making a stand for yourself and possibly others? I will not apologize because I did find it slightly offensive because I didnt get the pic and the whole Dutch thing really made me wonder at the time (still dont get the dutch part). I also feel your income shouldn't have to do with a persons interest in such a hobby as this. Take a look at my older threads and tell me I cant enjoy this hobby with little money, sure I can only dream of building a hybrid or even a cleanly built cannon at that. But dont hate/ discriminate on the financial status of someone.

No need to apologise (I never asked you to), I'm just saying that you should drop the subject. It was a misunderstanding, no need to make it more than that. There is nothing that you need to stand up for, you're not being punished or anything. It is in my opinion that your posts on the other page after your initial reply to JSR were not called for as it had gone beyond the stage of a misunderstanding. If you think this decision of mine is wrong, feel free to bring it up with another moderator or PCGUY but in the mean time I'm saying let's stop talking about it and move on; no harm done.
I also feel your income shouldn't have to do with a persons interest in such a hobby as this.
Of course it shouldn't, did I ever say it should? I merely said that if you can't afford a part that costs $3, this is not the hobby for you (because this can be a very expensive hobby). That's all that my reply above implied; that a person who cannot afford parts worth $3 may have a hard time building cannons (of any variation or type). We do encourage improvisation where applicable in this hobby and there's nothing wrong with trying to find an alternative for a $3 part, but that fact doesn't make JSR's image an inappropriate response. As you have come to learn, we do have some fun around here and make jokes at other people's expense but it is all well-intended and we're just having a laugh. Perhaps some time in the near future you can make fun of JSR's attempt to build a homemade vibrator (or dildo, I forget).
But dont hate/ discriminate on the financial status of someone.
No need to get ridiculous, that's an absurd interpretation of what I said.

time (still dont get the dutch part).
My apologies if I offended you.

The "Dutch part" is because Dutchmen (like me  ) are often viewed as being a bunch of tight arses, as JSR likes to point out :D

Yes but you can see how JSR kinda pushed me to it. Read it a bit more carefully what JSR said on the other page and think about what kind of perspective a stingy dutchman (lol) like me would think about that. I do feel it was called for, no not to the extent I put it in so I do apologize for that. Correct me if I'm wrong but I felt he was being slightly offensive so I spoke my mind.

Anyways I'm sure pretty much all of us like to have unecesary arguments from time to time. So cheers

And yes 3$ sin't much but when you're buying upwards of 20 of them, it does add up.
