Now she just plays a sucker...
untill he is fed up and hides in his workshop night after night.

There are certain people you shouldn't judge... and then there are women..
( sorry mom!)

any toughts on this?
i'm planning on using it for some plinking in the backyard, that makes about 10m, and for some occasional shooting on a large field. >30m
I know it doesn't have a very great finish, but I can make some custom parts.
Most appealing thing is the price

Inexpensive and low-ish quality but you know that going in...lot's of info on modding them up, in .177 you can around 980fps with 7.9grain pellets if it's really tweaked (and you enjoy pumping)...easy to switch over to .22cal as well.Labtecpower wrote:any toughts on this?
Given time, you can replace a lot of the plastic with metal, turn it into a carbine...what ever you want really...
This is a 2289, but the only real difference is the stamp on the tube, barrel and pump arm...many parts interchange between crosman models.
Go for it and have fun doing so.

Enough plans in my head
I want a strong and reliable plinker that fits in my backpack, this seems perfect.
With some modding and a folding stock it should work like a charm
and 980 fps sounds very good

You won't get 980fps with the 10" barrel...likely top out around 700fps in .177 .

ah well, 700 is good enough. Not planning on putting a larger barrel on it if I get one, it needs to be very portableYou won't get 980fps with the 10" barrel...likely top out around 700fps in .177 .
I will just mod all the internals, plastic pump rod first
another thing I would like to add is a silencer..

Go for the plumber job before dunkin donuts. It'll probably pay better, and if nothing else it won't make you fat within the first three months. You'll also get fittings and stuff for free (within reason).
Ok matty, you got a suppressed chuckle from me this time.
