Perhaps the pistol with THE most mods available for it. 8)

Steel receiver (usually referred to as a breech on airgun forums...and by Crosman) stabilizes the barrel to various sighting options. (Stace long breech from NZ in the pic below) I consider this a "must have".

Hipac system....allows the use of cartridges or compressed gas at high pressure (hpa, N2) Great little system...really like it.

Trigger grip frame from a P-rod/1701/1720...two stage and SO much better you won't believe it...will need the matching striker as well.

If you keep the stock trigger frame, change out the sear spring for a lighter one...huge improvement.

Trigger shoe...can be made or bought. Spreads the trigger pull force across the pad of the finger resulting in lighter feel.

Do your own valve work....or go with a BOSS valve.

Grips...pick yer maker. Have grips by "Grips by Rick" and "Keiths grips"..both are darned nice.

Rear velocity adjuster to fine tune striker spring preload...nice to have.

The one in the pic has been converted to .25 cal using a Marauder barrel turned to suite and custom bolt. Pic was taken before the two stage trigger frame was added. Keiths "Combat grips" in Zebra wood.

After some research following up your post, I've decided there are FAR too many mods for this thing to count, this is gonna be bad for my wallet...

I think I'm going with a steel breech for sure, mainly for the option of mounting a sight. The next thing I think I'll need is a suppressor for this thing, so I think I'll buy an adaptor to fit an airsoft silencer, or even a custom machined one (JSR?). I think I'll pass on the trigger mods, I don't mind the trigger pull. As for the grips, I think I'll try my hand at just doing some bondo work and adding a foregrip

In terms of performance, there is a lot of work that can be done to improve flow around the valve and bolt, I assume there are already a lot of commercially available upgrades in this area.

Shipping one to you would not really be an option, but there are a lot of ways you can make your own, especially if you're handy with epoxy.

Try changing the sear spring...see if you still feel the same way.

Can be done, it would cost you more for shipping than for the actual items probably. Make sure you get something metal than can be opened

I've seen a bunch of cheap aluminum silencer tubes that can be opened for "servicing" them, but the foam that they come with may work fine, I guess I'll just have to buy it and figure out

It will make a difference of course, but you need baffles to really have an effect.

Flirting with the law IMO, but...airguns of any stripe are not considered firearms in the US. The popular thinking on various forums seems to be that as long as it cannot be used on a firearm, it doesn't require the BATF tax stamp.

Foolish thinking IMO...getting arrested will cost thousands (10's of possibly) to defend the charge even if you're not found guilty in the end. Being convicted is something one would not wish to contemplate.

Guys in the US have the option open to them to acquire the tax stamp from BATF and own a suppressor LEGALY...$200 is cheap insurance.

Wouldn't it be a shame if you got a criminal record for possessing an illegal silencer...and then couldn't qualify for the tax stamp to have one legally?

IMHNSO...get a tax stamp, TUNE it to be quiet, or just keep it loud.

I understand there's laws against air gun suppressors because they could be taken off and fitted on a firearm, but isn't there no problem if the suppressor is integral or permanately affixed to the air rifle? With some epoxy and body work, I could easily make the suppressor permanent and integral, so would that make it legal?

Some airgunners have felt that if their moderator is securely attached to an airgun, or best of all, built into it as part of the airgun, then it would be exempt from these draconian laws. It does not make any difference if the airgun sound moderator is permanently attached or even built in as part of the airgun! There is NOTHING in the law as to what, or how, the device is attached - to discuss that point is just dreaming or at best just an opinion from some officer- with no impact in court!! The talking heads tell each other this excuse over and over. Even the law authorities have noted that a moderator on an airgun, even one built into the airgun, can indeed be removed, perhaps by even machining away the airgun, or unscrewing the permanent-looking barrel shroud unit,, and then adapted for use on a firearm- i.e. it is capable of moderating the discharge of a firearm - for at least that one decibel reduction for one shot rule.
