Im not asking if anybody is religious and what not:
But im asking for prayers!! I received a call yesterday that my mom was out for dinner and started to slurr her words and couldnt place an order , she then lost feeling in her jaw and hands, my dad then rushed her to the hospital and got tests and found it was a tia( mini stroke) ,,,Everything is ok and she is doing fine ( still in the hospital) and they are keeping her till tuesday the latest to conduct more tests,

this is one hell of a time for me to go through with just worrying about her!!!

I pray that she will pull through and all tests will come out negative and get her home safe and sound

Every Potatoe chucker please pray!!!!

She should be in good hands, doctors don't do all those years of rigorous training for nothing. Give them a bit of credit, what they do isn't easy!

I'm one of those damned souls, but best of luck to your mother and family, and the rehabilitation services available means there's very little impact from such a stroke, she'll come good from it.

one surpising story that my dad told me relevant to strokes
was that an old man my dad knows had a severe stoke and was probably not going to ever recover. He could not speak and pretty much a vegetable. But soon after being admitted to hospital, he had an intense epileptic fit, it was so severe that as he was thrashing around on the hospital bed he unclogged and knocked out a part of cholesterol near his brain (im pretty sure thats was the clog was ).
Within a week the guy was able to speak and act like normal again. :)

So that just goes to show that strokes can be recovered from and that they can commonly only causes minor permanent damage
My wishes are for the best because i remember that it was not fun to be woken up one morning then being told that my fathers heart is having troubles

it is only a mini stroke and everything will be better, and if there is anything worse, it will be detected early now and stopped before anything bad will happen. Stay in there dude, good luck

Ouch, sorry to hear about this. Bad things seem to happen at the worst of times, don't they? I remember when my dad got in his motorcycle accident on Easter Sunday two years ago...He simply texted us saying "Got in an accident". Ended up losing his left foot. :(

I hope your mom is ok!

My Uncle had one a year ago and has recovered to the point you wouldn't know he had one. Follow doctors orders. Regular monitoring at an anti-coagulation clinic may be part of the new routine after-words. My prayers go out to you.

You may be in for a spell of recovery and therapy before she regains balance, able to walk, talk, remember names, etc. Do plan on stimulating the mind. We played card games to stimulate the mind during recovery. It went from being unable to remember the names of the face cards and unable to grasp cards, to playing a normal game without help. The more time you can spend on interaction, the better the recovery chances.

just to help you keep your spirit up:
I know a number of people who have had strokes and recovered fully.

Hang in there and all the best to you ( all).

Not to try to ruin your hopes, i bet that your mom will be ok, but..

Many of my relatives have died because of strokes, caused by high blood pressure etc. caused by drinking :D
