Thanks :)
May I know the shape of the parts and how they will be assembled?

I was thinking of a monolithic core similar to the part here and a spring to keep it tight.

Not sure if there is enough space for such through.

In your opinion, does independent baffles work better than only one core? I haven't tried any yet so, you're the specialist, you decide :)

Doesn't make that much of a difference to be honest, especially on a springer where most of the noise comes from the spring anyway and the volume is so small.

Impressive work!
What kind of wood did you use for this box?
I assume you used acid etching and a brass plate for the emblem at the lid?
You should really try salt water etching on Ferrous metals, it gives a nice deep etch in a matter of seconds.
I've used it on 316L stainless with success.

edit;

Ever tought about making a gas ram for a spring gun? they eliminate a lot of twang..
Haven't had the chance to make one for my Hammerli yet

Make sense. Then do whatever you think it's easier :) meanwhile I'm looking for a new scope for it.

Thanks, I hope she agrees :)

I have no idea, must have been something fancy though because it was the backing of a plaque from my father's old office.

Yup, concentrated nitric acid on a design cut from masking tape.

I haven't really gotten into working with ferrous metals because of the power limitations of the Sherline, hopefully soon I will upgrade...

Its actually funny how big difference baffles make though 97k is a springer. It reduces the sound and makes the gun sound even more pro :D

It is loud isn't it? I thought so because every shot I take there is always a sharp bang, very different from the spring bounce.

Still one of the quietest springer rifles around apparently: http://www.straightshooters.com/decibel ... rguns.html

Here's wyz's monolithic baffle stack to complement the fine example of German engineering he wisely chose to invest in :)
