I just came with a thought, do you think the spring if housed inside would look cleaner? sorry, it's just something I would do if there are any space inside the plates.

10mm..

I made a cut out using the tip of a file to complete the swirl

I know it's still a bit ghetto to wyz' standards...
but I took a picture of it next to the metal plate it was cut from anyway...

Tomorrow I'll get 1200 grid waterproof sandpaper to get a 100% mirror finish.
Hopefully it will look clean enough...

Whahahaha!

Like...I'd love for wyz to go : hmm..that's almost...okay-ish....
( but it needs some polishing)

Just compare the toolmarks to the size of my fingerprints..
and imagine what it'll look like when I'm done...

:D

Gotta keep everyone happy ...I'm a crowdpleaser...

Thanks!
I like to think so myself.
I was rather amazed at how it turned out so far...

Later this week I'll have the chance to use a Dremel and a router.
I'll do some engraving and I can start on building the stock.Found some suitable birch (sp?)-wood.

Hopefully, with the router, I can have it go around the shoulderstock-reservoir in such a way it appears to be solid wood.

We'll see.
Maybe I'll decorate the wood a bit too.
I just hope I'll know when to say enough is enough...if there is such a thing.

Some people just doesn't forgive isn't it?
I didn't want to be a killjoy, sorry if I did so.
If I had stayed satisfied with some of the Gun Freak style compliments on your builds that I got on YouTube, I'd never gone any further than a QEV style launcher.

:D
I know!

I'm just teasing..
And to answer your earlier question...There isn't enough room on the inside to place a decent spring.

I've screwed up 7 different kinds of spring trying...Those that I managed to fit had no power...

In there I need room for the trigger and something for the trigger to hook into, to block and release the hammer also.
Pretty tight in there..

I'll cut the bend off the end of the spring as it has no function but this leafspring is probably the best solution.

Doesnt look bad at all and flintlocks often had external leafsprings for the anvil anyway.
Gary Barnes did an entire serie of airguns with external locks I believe..

I´m happy with it.

Gun Freak style compliments
Hey what are you trying to say
I'd never gone any further than a QEV style launcher.
BTB's fine craftsmanship deserved praise and worship... even though it wasn't perfect to some people's standards, it was still incredible. When people on YouTube gave you criticism for your QEV launchers, you weren't as advanced as you are now and as BTB was when I gave him praise for his repeating pneumatic. I happen to have nothing but great thoughts about his work and I feel no need to criticize! That doesn't mean he won't improve on his own anyway... it's his nature for Christ's sake!

Note that I never said they weren't.
I think the comment function is to give our opinions. I may not be able to do what he does but if I think something that maybe made differently in my personal taste, I choose to speak out. However in order to avoid any unnecessary conflict I'll stop commenting about this matter and about this thread, as apart from the critics, nothing else is left to be said after your comments.
I just refereed your comments as an example with no any bad intention at all.

Not trying to be hostile or argumentative here man, just backing myself up. I'm not trying to make you stop commenting. After all, constructive criticism is what makes people improve.

I was just make sure I wasn't offending anybody again by not showing enough compliment but criticisms. I just said if possible I would put the spring inside (which after some sarcasm, BTB provided detailed information). Apart from that I simply have no words to properly compliment his work so I didn't. BTB is doing great and I think he knows it.
