Cheers :) I have mixed feelings about having it shiny, it looks like a slippery slope... before you know it I will make a brass trigger, safety, wooden grips...
I didn't see any rails milled in, is it just set up for for the stock sights?
Nope, I have access to all sorts of ready made rails at the shop so as GF pointed out I left the top flat to eventually bolt a rail there for a red dot sight.

I would also like to mod the sear spring, something like this:

Speaking of hybrids... now that you have access to machining and are quite skilled at it - have you considered building a small handheld hybrid ?? for example pistol sized and equiped with a bolt lock?

Well, I also now have access to shotshell primers, nailgun blanks... not sure if a small bore hybrid really makes sense anymore, I think my dreams of a small bore firearmesque cartridge hybrid are one of the casualties of freedom.

A slippery slope indeed, and you're already on the way down.

Nice work on the receiver. :)

Bling 1322. 8)

Are you intending to add a grub screw or two to solidify the barrel/receiver connection or did you make it a reasonably snug fit?

Excellent work Jack, makes me want one.

Gippeto, out of modified 1322, what's a consistent FPS with standard weight pellets? This discounts radical modifications (buying a Benji Marauder or such). Would like to be around the 550fps mar and up if that's doable.

I was going to cut it is very snug and the muzzle clamp I made puts it under tension anyway. Not exactly free-floating but hey :)

Here it is, ready for some power testing :D

Some better pictures, all it needs is the rail now:

I put some Crosman Premier hollowpoints through it, no chrony at the moment but shooting at a pine 2 x 1 20 pumps will put the base of the pellet a quarter inch below the surface, not sure how it compares to the previous performance though

In my enthusiasm, I put exactly one pellet through it before taking it apart

Tomorrow I will add a length of Picatinny rail and re-do the muzzle part, it's slightly undersize so the barrel is not exactly parallel to the pump tube and I think it will look better if it is longer than the pump tube plug. I am really, really tempted to thread it...

edit: gosh darn, look at this!

Clearly a distinct lack on imagination on my part

<s>Brb shooting some pine</s>

I'd say you're doing pretty well, the Marksman pellets I was given at the gun shop is sitting flush with the pine. And you know the awesome power of my air rifle

Good to know that my hard work means I'm doing better than a second hand Spanish lower end air rifle :D

Hopefully if there's enough daylight tomorrow I can get some actual chrony results.

With what barrel length? How many pumps?

Can be made to make good power if you don't mind pumping...720fps with 14" 22cal barrel and 14.3grain...980fps with 20" .177 cal and 7.9grain (LOTS of pumping...ie 40)

Have enough parts to assemble a 1322 with essentially stock length barrel. Will put it together and run it over a chrony... see what it shoots.

Straight out of the box, mine was about 450 fps + or - a bit with 10 pumps and Crosman Premier Hollow Points. In fairly hard old pine the pellets just barely bury themselves (about flush with surface or just a bit deeper).
