ummmm i have been overseas for the past few months and i get back and there is a post from me abusing you all? that wasnt me i dont no who wrote it? i asked my brother and he said he didnt but he is most definetly lieing, so im sorry to all of you on behalf of him. and on with the idea ok me and my mate are getting into skimboarding and here in australia we are in drought a very bad drought and we are not allowed to waste our tap water, so i need ideas on how i could make a line for me to skim on, i had 1 idea get a long peice of plastic cover it with lube (yes i mean lube that is used for things to do with sex) and then run up and chuck the board down and slide along, the track will be set up going down a hill because my mates back yard has a hill. at my place we have a lake out the front its called lilydale lake named after the town and i will just skim on that but when we are at his we have no where to skim, except for his pool that could damage the pool and our boards, i have a homemade board with 6mm ply core and fiberglass on the bottom it isnt the normal shape i wanted to try something new so i kind of made it odd i will post a pic when i bring it home. im making my mates board for him its going to be the normal inland board shape with only the bottom fiberglassed and a coat of marine paint on top. will post pics of that to. so any idea are greatly appreciated...

You're lube idea would cost a lot of money if you're looking to make a slide worth skimming on. Just go to your house if you want to skim...that's the easy option... Possibly use recycled shower water or something if you're comfortable with that sort of thing

Get a roll of Visqueen(sp) and roll it out to the length you want to skim and pour cheap liquid clothes detergent on it and rub a petroleum based lube on the bottom of your board, it will stay on the board for quite a few runs and the detergent will last awhile to but wouldnt stay on the board.
I should try this one day, like a slip-n-slide but much better.
