Auto or Semi-auto combustion

Boom! The classic potato gun harnesses the combustion of flammable vapor. Show us your combustion spud gun and discuss fuels, ratios, safety, ignition systems, tools, and more.

With an electronic circuit to automatically vent the chamber with a mattress inflator, then trigger an auto loading (A revolving magazine is your best bet) mechanism, then re-fuel the chamber (via a 3 way solenoid valve), then trigger a stungun or camera flash ignition.

Basically, build a Revolver X clone, but bung a motor on the magazine, and wire all the electrics into a magic project box.

Pump action would possibly be easier.

I had plans for a semi-auto hybrid at one point, but I'm not sure I've got the stamina to build something as complex as that.

I'm building a full auto one right now. I'll explain it better later, but it uses a piston driven blowback system like the one in an AK-47 to trigger everything. It has a gravity feed into a rotating hopper that drops a golf ball into a breach loading system. It will technically be a hybrid, because air will be injected, but probably only at 1x mix. Its a 3-way solenoid metering system, and uses a mechanical variation of a supah valve. It is installed just like a supah, but backwards. The barrel is where the chamber would be, and the chamber is attached to where the barrel would normally be. The piston in the supah is pulled open by another piston on the inside of the chamber, and returned to the closed position with a spring. I may have explained that poorly, but I'll give you a diagram soon. I'm pretty sure it will work though.

well Rambo made a full auto combustion, but it wasn't very practical http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1278&

A full auto combusion made of plastic sounds interesting.

Specially if the bursts of heat are enough to melt the plastic parts.

Send me the plans, I'll have it done in a month.

Hmmmm, Melted, flameing plastic DOES sound interesting.....unless you are the one holding it. If so, the word AAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH!!! comes to mind lol.

Killa, that's a pretty big claim considering you havn't seen the plans. What if it's a 50 caliber, hypersonic, turret mounted, 20x mix hybrid gun capable of 100,000 rounds per minute. Ha ha now THAT I'd like to see lol.

Wouldn't the smarter make it out of metal?

You think I ever put anything down on paper?

It'd be hard to do in metal, simply because metal in the sizes needed is uncommon, if not rare.

It's probably also got loads of problems to iron out as well.

Hell, maybe I'll find the time to iron out the problems and put it down onto paper (digital paper or not)...

I see it uses the continuous evaporating alcohol you don't need the siring since alcohol only burns in gas/vapor state, but the venting must be a problem along with ignition.

how about instead of alcohol a water separator 2 H20--> 2H2 + O2 okay I know it sounds crazy but it just might work you'll need a strong electricity source to separtate the water but it could work since you don't need to vent in the oxygen. the other way could be cartridges. etheir way anything with eficent power and operationis not easy

Building a semi-auto is really easy if you understand some simple electronics.

Did you guys forget about the <a href="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtop ... 5&">Proton Pack</a>?
