lol that was a 3 liter pop bottle. i needed a larger chamber for the longer barrel thats why i used that and not a juice bug or somthing smaller.

nice ghetto gun, too bad it died. I think the reason the chamber would start to implode is that the barrel was way too long, so the marble would actually constrict the chamber. if you wanted to keep the barrel length maybe try to use a different fuel to create a higher pressure when ignited. this would solve the barrel chocking problem. or simply cut the barrel anyway i guess it doesnt matter since the it melted.

It probably burned by excess fuel left behind. This happens to some of my guns sometimes, the solution is to make sure no liquid is left behind after a dud or even a clean shot. I don't think it was the barrel, the only way that would happen is the marble being too big. (btw im talking about the post above)

I made a 2-liter into a 1.5 inch Sch-40 PVC barrel (3 feet long) & used propane & a grill lighter to launch moon flower seed pods (nasty spikey balls of pain). I had a hole just big enough for the grill lighter to slide in as my trigger.

A quick blast of propane & that thorn ball would sail with a boom!

Propane is ideal because there isn't any residue for residual burning in such a thin plastic chamber.

Although mine lasted until I crushed it, I wouldn't recommend higher pressure applications like this.

I will post my new ghetto blaster in a few. :)
