That would look like a compensated hand gun!

They use them on spas I think where hoses branch out from a main pipe maybe for jets or something.

Yep right on the nail. Out spa has a shit load of clear parts on it. Inclufing the elusice SCH 80 Clear. It is used for the filter so you can see what is flowing through.
