Now, now, PCguy, let's avoid hyperbole... there would be some non commercial websites, such as those hosted by people with entirely too much money, those supported by member/visitor donations, and those supported by <strike>armed robbery</strike> taxes.

...on the other hand, it is true that there would be many fewer sites.

Sorry guys, I was on edge earlier when I posted that. But yeah ads are the only means of support I have here for SpudFiles, and snitz probably seems cleaner since there are less options and things are more basic.

You will get used to it.

I don't have a problem with ads, except pop-up ones. More specifically the ones that no pop-up blockers seem to be able to stop.

The ones here are fine.
Novacastrian: How about use whatever the heck you can get your hands on?
frankrede: Well then I guess it won't matter when you decide to drink bleach because your out of kool-aid.
...I'm sorry, but that made my year.

SGTC forums were more cleaner looking and in my opinion had more high tech, refined cannons. That is only my opinion however.
You guys had practically the same cannons as us, though I do find more cannons here and its harder to find the truely great ones like the recent Nuker II and Solar Eclipse cannon....I prefered to post my cannons here due to the fact it is very had to get a decent comment from a respected member of spudtech over there...

It isn't necessarily true that Spudtech had nicer cannons, just that there were fewer crappy ones in between.

SMOWK wrote:I agree, a seperate read only forum archive of the old spudtech would be in everyones best interest. Kyle do you think joel would keep it hosted on his site? just susspend all acounts, lock all posts and lock the whole forum in susspended animation somehow? that way it can still be part of spudtech...

but then again if joel is cutting funds and cutting back in the buisness as well he may not be in it much longer and hosting it all here makes best since as for the nature of this site...
The SpudTech forums were a huge piece of poo. It's the content that is important. The SpudTech forum archive will NOT run on a Snitz forum, it will run on a phpBB forum similar to this one (but it will be more plain)

As soon as the issue of unarchiving all archived posts is solved, then expect to see it here on SpudFiles as a seperate section, all locked down with (hopefully) advanced search features to help you find what you need to.

Ahh, the "search" feature at Spudtech...funny stuff

I knew the ads are the only support you have here and I was just saying that it's different. I'm just glad to have a spudgun forum right now.
