im thinking about putting a mini cannon on my rc car. its ok if it is kinda heavy this is a hobby car built to last. it goes up to about 25 mph so it can carry relatively heavy loads. does anyone know of some remote ignition systems? let me know if you do. :D

P.S. for anyone who is interested it is a Traxxas Stampede. no upgrades

what, you mean those big black electric motors? that would weigh at least 20 pounds? or are you talking about something else?

torque on your servos might be a problem. I graduated from cars into helicopter and managed to combine it with model rocket firing. but that was much easier considiring the button had significantly less resistance.

Depending on what kind of transmitter you use, (I use a futaba 9c), you could program one of the many extra levers or buttons for things meant for engine kill to make your servo go, which in turn, will make your ignitor click. (I think)

if the servo is not strong enough, you could try an alternate method, such as attaching a battery, with alligator clips on both ends of the wires, and mount one inside your chamber, and also mount the servo with the other alligator clip attached to the servo arm inside the chamber, and make it so that when you move your lever or switch, the two wires come cose enough inside your barrel to make conduction. hence a spark. just an idea. the only problem I see is your servo getting torched.

Heres another idea for ya.

Buy a wireless doorbell from somewhere, rip out the speaker (or peizo) on the receiver and replace it with a small relay that is wired to your ignition source.

I did this to our garage door in our old house because we lost the remote for it. Works well
Airbeds... so many different uses
