if you have never made a cannon, then chances are that you wont be building anything like that anythime soon, unless of cource you are extreamly good at building things. like any thing, it takes practice. most people start small, very few make something like that on the first try.

any way, you should start with the chamber, thats a good place to begin. take a peice of pipe, glue on a female adaptor and a reducer and you have a chamber. attach the barrel to the chamber with a compression fitting.

use a plug to seal off the chamber. wire a sparker. you now have a basic cannon.

go here for a little more details

@jermx,
Welcome to the forums.

There are some detailed plans for metered propane combustion guns in the How-To section... I posted a set a while back for a gun quite similar to that. Search around, man.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

for a propane meter just take a basic blow torch head and put a peice of 3/8'' hose on the end and hose clamp it on. thats what i do and it never leaks. you will figure out how to put a gauge and valve on. i suggest that you go to a plumming shop and just look around, you will figure it out.

if they ask what you are making just say "science project". if they ask what kind of project say "water filter" works every time.
